Corporate monopolization of the airways is just as dangerous as government control. You are still only fed the information that they want to feed you, complete with whatever spins they choose.

Weiner is also correct. No one wants their young children watching inappropriate materials, freely, on publicly broadcasted channels.

The REAL problem is that our politicians are constantly changing and/or proposing new laws, rules, and regulations. From the job securing, egomaniac angle, this is a self-serving act of pseudo-relevance. From the solidly corrupt system angle, it's also the way they payback those who helped get them elected or re-elected.

You do realize that this is easily the same ideology that says: "No one wants their young children watching inappropriate materials, freely, on public internet."

The answer should ALWAYS be that PARENTS are supposed to be in charge of what their children look at, and the rest of us should not have our rights curtailed because parents are too lazy to be parents. There is no difference, in most households, in the access to "network" TV or HBO. Parents should not allow their kids to watch things without parental supervision, and that's that.

Porn is not currently broadcast on public TV, and the internet is not currently too restricted.

I am asking, why are politicians always shaking shit up, even when things are currently fine? It is to argue new arguments, rehash old arguments, and to pass new laws and regulations, ultimately serving their corporate overlords, securing their political existence.

The internet will not be restricted based upon "moral" or "ethical" arguments - it will be restricted and chopped up based upon corporate greed and control... and government control too.
