X-men First Class writers must have never watched Origins.

I just got home from watching X-men First Class, which was a pretty good movie. During the movie it showed when Prof. Xavier got paralyzed. He was pretty young at the time. If you watched X-men: Origins, at the very end it shows an older Prof. Xavier getting off a helicopter...and he was walking.

So was he paralyzed when he was younger like it showed in First Class or was it later in life when he was about the same age as Jean-Luc Picard?

In X-Men 3 Charles (walking) and Eric go to visit a young Jean Grey, which they show as "20 years ago"...

I guess they wanted to add a clean tie in so the average viewer isn't like "Huh, isn't that the dude in a wheelchair?" I don't think a non-comic fan would get that there have been a dozen different story arcs in which he ends up paralyzed.

Or it could be First Class has the storyline correct and X-Men 3 and Wolverine got it wrong. Or it could be the comics are so convoluted on contradictory that it doesn't matter. Or the fact it's a FICTIONAL movie based on a COMIC BOOK so who gives a fuck?
