That's what I thought. Obviously if your strength isn't writing great readable and selling articles and your strength is SEO. Then that makes total sense.
My thinking is to do both, writing something that is interesting, SEO and selling. Is it that hard?

Seems there are just some people that really know how to destroy a thread it make it turn to crap. Anyone here sell their blogs mobile traffic to Juicy Ads or a similar company? I have a few of my blogs setup with their mobile selling redirection thing and make a few bucks a day with it...just wondering if it would be a good idea to sell ALL of the mobile traffic I get? Or would I potentially be missing out on sales? I just can't figure out if I make any sales off my mobile traffic.Comment

I've always believed, if you treat customers with respect they come back. And every time you take advantage of one you lose his trust a little, take advantage of one often enough and you lose him completely.
So with 100s of people churning out blogs that are just to get a surfer to the site, hit him with an "advert" and not care if he comes back. Eventually customers start to get very cautious. With today's Adult Internet he has no reason to buy. So not only is he cautious, he has far more trustworthy options for free.
Hard to compete with free, even harder if the paid option isn't to be trusted?Comment

Sorry, I smoked a little today and everything was funny at the time..
But building a blog that surfers will come back to and trust is good or bad depending on what type of blog you are making.
For example, most affiliate marketers make blogs by niche or micro niche with FHGs from the same paysite or a handful from the same sponsor or direct tour linking banking on the fact that men think with their dicks, meaning that they mostly buy when they see something they are interested in and not get off completely until they buy the full quality and length content, plus more depending on what the site offers and the niche. If you build a blog this way with repeat traffic, they will most likely just come back to get off for free on the blog or type in the paysite url directly when used to the promo content. Which is why you see a lot of mass produced crappy looking blogs that seem to rank well on SEs since they sell by making the surfer want to click on something to get to a better looking page quicker...
On the other hand, there are other blogs that have higher quality templates and content that is a different niche than what the FHGs or paysite links link to most of the time, not always, and have higher repeat surfer rate and more real comment interactions. These work well for webcams, dating sites, and PPC traffic or just sell mobile traffic if you sell that on the blog. They also work well for getting a nice stream of social media traffic.

I see what you're getting at and it's a good point. But a restaurant blog, news or many types of blogs do work and do get people coming back. Now transferring that drawing power to porn is hard, which is good. If you can do it.
Getting traffic is important, but it's always uphill if the traffic is just flowing through.Comment

I included SEO, so no need to think about. As 99% of the other advice here is about SEO. I wondered if they actually do anything else.
Writing something interesting is good, sending the interested people to a site that clearly doesn't live up to the text is a waste of time if you want to keep them coming back.
Think about it ;)
Some "review" sites failed miserably. Because it was just a review of the tour. Often BS, the traffic from it was small, conversions smaller. Compare them with Rabbit, Best Porn and a couple of others and see the difference. Their traffic is golden. Theirs was mud slung at a wall.Comment

blogs catch SE traffic that when matched to good relevant paysite makes sales. they don't buy they can piss off to pornhub for all i care.

You obviously have a mental block. I never said ignore it. Never said don't do it right. Never said don't do it as well as possible.
What I'm saying is selling is a little bit more than standing in a stream of people with an arrow and picture of a girl pointing to a place to buy her. Assuming you have the skills to write like this.
When the traffic hits, it's person to person. Write something that has feelings, has personality and above all actually has a better reason to buy than whats of 10,000 other blogs. When the customer has bought off the post on your blog make sure it's true. So he thinks of coming back to that blog. Or unless you convert 1-1, make sure you do your utmost to make him come back to the blog.
Of course relying 100% on SEO is stupid as well.

http://femdomslaves.net is one of my blogs...I made it pretty quickly with the default wordpress theme. I've made blogs that have really long posts and that I update regularly and I've made blogs like the one above that I don't spend to much time on, I'm basically trying different strategies and seeing which works better.
I see what you're saying about doing both...working on SEO and writing high quality posts...I think either way you can make good money if you put forth the effort.
I imagine you could do really well if for example you created a blog devoted just to your content and updated it regularly. I think it would work out well since you shot the content yourself and it would give the blog a much more personal feel.Comment

So to provide a new update for this. I recently began adding about a blog a week now. I am trying to post at least 15-20 posts to start with for each blog before linking up and getting anything submitted. I'm also not relying on any serious plugins...just good old keyword research first then posts. The true hard part is keeping them all updated now that the network size is getting bigger.
But traffic is up and hopefully so will sales be soon enough...if I'm lucky! TGIF Guys!

Here are some stats on the work that I have done to prove it is working. It isn't by any means a success at all. I couldn't even buy groceries with the little number of sales but I figured I owe it to followers of the thread to show some real results of this work. Thanks V_Rocks, anexesia, colmike, nicky, mediumpimpin and everyone else that contributed to this! I will keep updating with stats and progress.

One random thing that helps me with targeted traffic and PR is Twans submitter and alternate directory (www.adultblogresource.com/submitter) Just watch your email since blogs arent accepted every time and if so you can drop the links. Also select the smart linking option for the first submitter
Also, "do keyword research first"! It may seem obvious, but many people don't do that and assume that there are so many people surfing for porn that even strange detailed keywords will be searched often... I'm going to be honest...I've done some KW research but not much.. Some of the blogs I've built based on research has done ok. Others have done nothing. I'm assuming the end all result of the "better" blogs is purely SE related.That's why I make so many..

I've had several blogs in the past that were very succesful with no keyword research whatsoever. Google will send you traffic if your blog is good.
