Right now it's not the best place to go, due of a shitty CHILEAN VOLCANO that is exploding and feeding the area with garbage. As for Sid70, take care with Apartments rentals.. If you are "Yankee", they use to charge you 20 times more for the apartment, than if you are a local. An apartment building rental per month (2 rooms) in a good area is about 500 bucks per month. But there is a USA guy that built an empire buying tons of apartments and charging 5000 dollars per 15 days to Yankees or North Americans. Quite a scammer if you ask me. Well, I don't know your situation, Sid70, but if you are a millionaire maybe you can pay that. Otherwise go for any good hotel and you will pay less. The city is nice. Of course you have the yanwy towns, because it's one of the only countries in the world where illegal inmigrants are welcome in thousands every single day, due of the bad political rules of the gov. So they locate in the marginal towns, also known as villas, or shawny toens in english. If you have any question just ask. |
Best place to party, hottest women ever!!

Microcentro indeed isnt the best place to live.. its kinda crazy too many people around.. I believe best places are palermo, recoleta even Belgrano. Since its a big city there is many ways to move from one place to an other. Indeed you have to be careful with you walet but to be honest where you wont need to be? IT is like every big city it has positive things and negatives.. Argentina is beautiful and girls as well so I guess (since I lived in USA) that to travel to Argentina for u and try it out it is worth it.

I found your ref to my question in the post that didnt seem to be related :) Pardon me :) |
Argentina is like Liverpool. The people who can, leave. Then spend the rest of their lives telling you it's the best place in the world.
Nice place to visit but damn, they seem to fuck up every 10 years or so and need a hand out, whist spending money on 'vanity projects' to make their presidency look good. Great people, fucked up government. |

Cost of living : Good question :) I've read you would come with kids, so I have to tell you is safe to take them. Here it's just like another big city ,so the usuall reccomendations will apply, I man , walking in a poor illuminated street at 2am while holding your camera with a big smile on your face won't be so safe hehehe... There are super secured neighbourhoods like "Puerto Madero" , I personally love that place and is SUPER SUPER safe ( actually is like being in a 1st world country ) . I own an apartment there and it's a great place. Some pics of Puerto Madero http://www.google.com.ar/search?q=pu...w=1600&bih=775 now let's talk about how much it will cost you living here : Dinner at a good restaurant: $20 per person ( with a regular wine ) Dinner at the best restaurant in town:$40 ( with regular wine ) some pics http://www.google.com.ar/search?hl=e...93l683l2-1.1l2 Happy meal at Mcdonalds: $7 20 min cab trip: $10 Buying food and stuff at the supermarket is more economical , actually we have the same prices you have in your country....yes believe it or not...we matched your prices :) When you come here you are going to realize the huge amount of american people that live, study or chooses Buenos Aires to visit, so you won't feel so foreing.... ( We are talking about if you stay at the neighborhoods I listed before ). Regarding accommodation you can find apartments from $800-1500 per month..it all depends who much you want to spend . I am free to answer all the questions you have ! |
The thing with Argentina is that there is a massive 'express kidnapping' problem :
http://www.argentinepost.com/2011/05...er-report.html From what I've read, the only really safe country in South America is Uruguay. |
