If the interview went well i'd give him a shot. I'v worked with ex-cons before and for the post part it all worked out.

Depends on his age if he were 16-20 on his 1994 arrest then he was just a stupid young guy. Failure to make child support well if he don't have the money then he can not pay and looking for work on Craigslist shows he did not have the money to pay! Give him a chance. |

Judge for youself ...

Tough crowd... seriously.
As others said, 1994 was an ancient time ago, and child support, well.. not to make excuses but it's not some big bad malicious crime. If the guy can't find a job that pays enough to support himself and pay his child support, what's he to do? Of course, he could just be a lazy bum, but he could also be a generally decent guy with a semi bad past looking to catch a break. I wouldn't go in to the interview with any bias feelings or w/e.. if he has the skills, try him out. I'd hope you'd protect your stuff from any new guy until you build that trust - and ALWAYS leave a back door because you never really can trust anyone - so I wouldn't treat him any different than any other person who came applying for the job. Treat a person like a thief, he will steal. |
Go with your own instinct, as much as I love gfy I do not think you should use the info given here to make your final decision.
Guy could become your best employee and even a friend... Who knows??? |

for all you know his wife/ex gf has been jerking them around or is an addict trying to get drug money.. if he can do the job hire him, if he seems honest enough he will probably be more loyal than any other employee you hire for the same price because your the one who gave him a chance in spite of all that... |
There are people who are shady without records, too. Do you wanna be the guy who judges an applicant based on what he got caught for, or the guy that gives someone a chance? It's always possible that another applicant has done much worse stuff - but just never managed to get busted. Embezzlers don't usually have a record, after all.

a programmer that likes to steal shit.... what could go wrong?

I think you need to just talk to him about it, especially if he's local. |

I pissed in my pants when I was 3 years old.
I wish I could get that removed from my record. |
always a tricky issue. fuck it though. it sounds like you're going to give him a chance. let us know how you get on. i wonder what the ratio is for hiring ex cons.
i know a guy from back home, a school friend that was busting bringing hash into Japan of all things. Anyway, he did five years but he's a stand up guy. Not a thief. |
I was an idiot when I was young. Always getting in trouble.
Im now married, 3 kids, large House in the hills, Investments, savings, employees, offices,I help my parents pay the bills, we bring my 90+yr old grandparents dinner once a week so they can see the Great Grand Kids. Go with your Gut, but people can change. 2c |
Call him in for an interview, have the sheriffs waiting in the next room to arrest him for back child support.
Film it for lulz. |
now you have to let us know what you decided..lol
|
Does he know you do porn?
Will he agree to work for a pornographer? |
Put a gun to his head and tell him what is up, then hire him. No guts no glory.. .
