Yea season 2 is already signed for. I'm pretty sure they will make 1 season for each book, unless they find some way to extend It to 2 seasons per book etc cause this show is showing great ratings It seems.

I had read back right after the first episode aired that they would love to do a season per book for the whole series. Today I was reading that because some of the books are very large and involved that they might break them up and do 2 seasons per book. This would also give the writer more time to finish the last two books in the series.
I would guess as long as it is popular and they can do it within budget they will keep making them. The problem with a series like this can be that as it gets successful the cast wants more money and soon it becomes too expensive to shoot.Comment

There will be but I would never put too much faith in HBO and their series after 2 seasons. I remember watching Carnivale and then all of a sudden it ended. It was like spending a week reading a 2,000 page mystery novel that leads you to the very last page where it says, "The butler did it. The End.". Carnivale had 8 million regular viewers but it was still cancelled. I don't care to look it up, but if anyone else does, check on the viewer ratings for GOT. If it's at or less than 8 million...be cautious how much you vest in it.Skype: TriplexprintComment

Just for the record...Spatacus kicked the shit out of this series. Not only did it kick its ass, it fucked it in the ass like a slave girl in the Ludus. If this is HBO's answer to it then HBO best get back to the drawing boards.

I'm a huge fan of Spartacus and I'm also really enjoying Game of Thrones. I think Game of Thrones is much more complex so it is going to take longer to really get going. But I must say I've liked it so much so far that I have ordered the series of books.
Also, let's not forget a brilliant little series HBO made a few years back called ROME. I think that series set the high bar for this type of show.Comment
