The reasons I don't like Skype!

I know many people are moving to Skype and there's 2 things that bug me about it.

1. No Spell Check, because it can't be added to a 3rd party like Trillion to my knowledge.

2. I will have 3or4 convos going at 1 time, when 1 of them will decide they want to call instead of type which means I'm distracted from the other convos I'm having.

Other then that, its ok.

Use Shift+Ctrl+C , copies in plain text, but adds nicks and time-stamps if multi-msg's copied

thing that bugs me in skype each chat window doesn't remember selected language, so jumping between Russian and English conversations I always need to switch the language. and yeah offline not sending is an inconvenience

i switched to skype a while ago mainly because of their conversation history, icq's was terrible when you needed to search for something and or copy more than one msg in conversation, fortunately they've fixed that with one of their recent updates., but still skype's UI is more friendlier imho.

Also you can't send messages offline like on ICQ - both of you and the other guy should be online so he could get your message.

I've always LOATHED Skype, for most of the reasons already listed here...

No spell check (I'm LOST without it lol)
No offline messages
won't minimize
Doesn't blink or "alert" me to a new message UNLESS I'm paying attention to the icon in my task bar

BUT, I have it, and WILL use it if I 'must'

I love skype. Consider it a blessing that ICQ cut you off. I think the last time I used ICQ was 1999, and it sucked then and made a horrible type writer noise. You also couldn't click 'enter' to send your message, you would have to use your mouse and click 'send'.

I'm not that big on M$ owning Skype however. Good opportunity for somebody new to break into the game.

1. Skype on Windows is a UI nightmare
2. Skype 5 on mac is a UI nightmare (older version was much better)
3. They promote that they don't have centralized server, which is BS, because how does it crash for everyone time from time then?
