Scoreland's XXLgirls fits that bill pretty well.
A lot of them are "plumpers" and a lot of them are just plain hot, unless you're one of these people that think women are fat if you can't see their ribs.

There's a lot of those people on this board :(

Sarah_Jayne 01-26-2003 09:55 AM

you bet there is! I get so many submissions from people claiming a woman that is just plain healthy is fat. I can deal with that if someone is a bit plump but so often they just aren't fat.

They certainly don't pass the belly test ;)

*I* put them as Big Beautiful Women, but some put them as women with big tits........

Well Big woman usually have FUCKING HUGE big ugly flabby tits so yeah they fit into both categories, but everyone knows BBW means : Big Beautiful woman and if they don't they will soon learn once they start clicking on BBW and finding HUGE ass woman.

DarkJedi 01-26-2003 10:06 AM

Isn't Big Beautiful Women like an oxymoron ?

Sarah_Jayne 01-26-2003 10:10 AM

to you perhaps..to others not. Oh, have to love diversity.

LadyMischief 01-26-2003 10:29 AM

Actually I find it amusing how many men close their minds to BBW women, and never realize what they're missing out on. Especially as webmasters, they don't want to "look" at them, however there is a large percentage of guys out there who DO, and those guys pay to see it, period. BBW as Vid and several others were saying, DOES NOT MEAN UGLY. I've seen a lot of women with a little extra cushion that were gorgeous, and happy with how they looked. Just because the market is saturated with Jennas and Arias (who are both gorgeous women don't get me wrong) doesn't mean that those are the kind of girls all people want.

There are different degrees of BBW, and a lot of people think of a 600 pound woman when they here that term, however, that is not the case.. Unfortunately it's such a generalized term, everyone is going to have their own definition. It can mean someone who's 20 pounds overweight, extra curvy etc, all the way to huge. Sarah's article is great though because it shows a little more about what the BBW surfer looks for, and removes some of the mystery about the genre. It narrows things down a little more to specifics, and that is easier to get your mind around.

Anyways, that's my :2 cents: on the issue.

Oh, and what I don't get are the guys running around with a beer gut and hair all over the place not showering for two days thinking THEY'RE dead sexy showing it all off, but women have to be toothpicks to be anything but ugly. Yep, I want me some of that.

What I find funny with obese people is that they want to have it both ways...
THey want to eat what they want... but also, be considered good looking like those who kick themselves in the ass to go to the gym or to not overeat when you have a tasty pizza in front of you...

is there semi-big beautifull women...? yes... however, if youre not beautiful, and you know if you are or not, accepting yourself in denial is not the way to go.... ESpecially if you can do something about it!!
I've even heard big women say that they're size is the healthy size....

Nope, BHM = Big Handsom Man

Was coined when people were looking for a phrase to describe the straight male version of a BBW.

Sarah_Jayne 01-26-2003 11:07 AM

just went and asked one of my friends that has been involved with the BBW community for decades and he said:

"the term was coined back in the 1970's with the release of the first issue of BBW Magazine and has been around ever since. "

So, as far as I can see my notion that BBW magainse coined the phrase seems to be born out. It was in existance WAY before people went online and then there was a number of BBS communities that started to pop up with the name and it moved from there. I was there ;)

I was simply elaborating on the stereotype, as these tend to be the most judgemental of men as far as women's bodytypes. :)

Not all bigger women have eating problems. My body isn't perfect, I've also had two c-sections and a lot of health problems (I was confined to bedrest for 8 months after the birth of each of my children as I am a hemopheliac and would hemorrage when I moved)... but I also do an hour of Tae Bo a day and an hour of Thai kickboxing. I belong to the boxing club and go hiking in the woods behind my house pretty much every day (15 acres of it). Does the fact that I have a bit of a tummy make me ugly? no. It just means I've lived my life and have my battle wounds to show for it. :) I don't believe being grossly overweight is good, but as I said, I'm not perfect, but I'm very healthy and very active. I'm probably NEVER going to be 125 pounds, however I can leg press 800 pounds (I've ridden horses for 22 years) and I can haul 25 cord of firewood by myself in three hours :) How about you?

Some of these girls have gland problems, some DO love eating, everyone is an individual.. Just that, no good no bad about it. I think the most important thing is being comfortable with who you are, and a lot of these BBW women are happier with their bodies than some thin women I know. It's acceptance of self that can make a woman just as beautiful as being a born runway model.

(And no, I'm not being judgemental, just stating fact.)

Personal Expierence. I started my TGP back when the term BBW was starting to circulate. I didn't know what it meant, so I did research on it. When I added the BBW category to my TGP, in the beginning, all I got was large breast galleries in there... over the years, it's changed, and now all I get is fatties.

I could be totally wrong, but, from my own research and what I've seen change, this is what I believed happened...

The term BBW came out, and meant Big Breasted Women. Content was scarce, and webmasters turned to larger women images, to use as filler content, since larger women typically have larger breasts.

Over time, the term just naturally took on a new meaning, as it's original definition became a gray area, when someone thought it meant "Big Beautiful Women".

Again, I could be totally wrong on this, but, from what I've read and seen, it seems to be correct.
:2 cents:

Sarah_Jayne 01-26-2003 11:18 AM

and what ammuses me so much is that so many men that are so violently against the notion of a BBW seem bent on some thought that we are begging you to think we are beautiful.

I couldn't give to jots if someone who isn't into BBWs doesn't think I am attractive. In some ways it is similar to being gay in the way that every straight man assumes you are trying to fuck them.

You are exclusivly into thin women? Great! There are some incredbly beautiful thin women out there.

I don't care if you don't like BBWs..I don't see the need to throw abuse but hey whatever gets you through your first grade fantasies.

Yeah, I am fat. There are reasons for that. Some of it is my diet, I am aware of that . Other reasons are very medical and very personal. I don't see why I need to wear a t-shirt proclaiming my reason for being fat.

Beautiful in the BBW sense to me is about being beautiful to BBW admirers and most importantly to myself.

Sorry, I really respect you but on this one you are wrong. As I said, the term comes from the magazine that strated to be published in the 70's. When online porn grabbed the term they didn't understand it and turned it into what they thought it was - because after all no one could like big women.

There was a huge online BBW community before the web was around..mostly on BBS's and AOL/Compuserve.

I can understand why you would think that but trust me on this one ;)

SpaceAce 01-26-2003 11:27 AM

The last several posts can be summed up pretty easily:

1) Being fat is unhelthy which is part of the (natural) reason that many men find fat women unattractive.
2) Some men like their women fat, anyway.

To each his own. If you like anorexics, good for you. If you like Jabba-ladies, good for you. No matter what your weight, there's someone out there who will accept you and there are others out there who will think you are too fat or too skinny.

I'm 325lbs, myself. I've been chubby to fat for the last 12 years or so and it never hurt my ability to get the ladies. I'm no super-stud, but I did alright for myself. It's as much about who you are as what you look like.

Actually, we could both be right. As you mentioned, it started back in the 70's. When it went online, it could have been misinterpreted and taken on a new meaning, and now has multiple definitions, depending on who you talk to.

I'm just wondering, if it has always meant "Big Beautiful Women", why do so many people think it means "Big Breasted Women"??

Just curious.

Wow... this is what Im talking about by denial...
Like it was something abnormal, immature... to prefer women or men with a healthy weight....

To tell you the truth, I dont care if you call yourself bbw because yes, there will be men that will think you look damn fine... (and some of those men might not be super fine themselves... hope you accept them...) But what bug me is comment like you made above in the quote.... Trying to convince men that you are DAMN FINE, that you are REAL WOMEN ... and you are an immature superficial if you like thin women (or women that are not overweight)....
:2 cents:

Sarah_Jayne 01-26-2003 11:37 AM

cause a lot of people didn't understand the term and when the porn companies tried to grab hold of it they used it incorrectly.

It wasn't a porn term to start with...it is like people now understanding twink or bear.

I see where it might have taken on an identity amongst those that didn't understand the non-porn term but luckily took it back ;)

no, you missunderstood me, my fault. I meant, the name calling aspect. I don't think it is immature to like thin women..heck I like some thin women (I tend to go on a person to person basis). As I said, it is just about being free to like whoever you like without having attacks.

This is EXACTLY what I was wondering......... maybe in the ORIGINAL term before the Internet Porn and such it was the BBW, meaning big beautiful women, but when the Internet came along and webmasters started doing porn, maybe it WAS Big Breasted Women........ this doesn't make anyone wrong really....... but I do distinctly remember someone telling me that it was Big Breasted Women.....

I went thru school one of the petite ones..... I never weighed more than 105 lbs at any given time. When I had my first child, I gained a good amount of weight........ so on and so forth thru 4 kids and two miscarriages... I managed to lose it all fairly quickly with the first ones...... but this last one isn't wanting to let go for shit so I am around 20-25 lbs overweight....... And the onl one with a problem with this is ME. My husband is adorable with it, most everyone I know is fine with it...... I have only had like maybe 1 or 2 people actually say something mean to me..... and they didn't matter. But I have issues with it......... so it kinda flips me out sometimes.

I don't judge people one way or another........ I take each person as an individual........ but I have seen some people be pretty cruel, to both heavy people as well as skinny as a rail people. There are people who are going to be an ass no matter what.

What DOES kill me is for one heavy person to point to another and declare "oh my god, look how fat they are" THAT Ones eats me alive.........

Sometimes people are heavy and they CANNOT help it. I have a step mother, she is not my step mother anymore, but I remember how very cruel we were to her, as thin people........ and I feel like shit about it now, but we were wicked to her. She was very heavy and we always told her if she didn't eat so much, she wouldn't be so fat...... not something I am proud of, but I was 9....... we found out many many years later that she had some sort of a problem with something and no matter what she did, she would never be a thin person, in fact she was only going to get bigger. I forget what it was called, but it was something in the way her body digests shit....... I still hate her but she is an example that some people just literally cannot help it.

I guess the point is here....... If you don't like a certain body type, whether it is thin or heavy... move on down the line til you find what you DO like and don't ridicule people because their boadies don't fit what you have in mind as attractive. :winkwink:

Sarah_Jayne 01-26-2003 12:59 PM

That is all fine....... but I was asking from a WEBMASTER perspective, woman. LOL

The reason I asked here is because I know alot of webmasters have different ides of what they think should go in different categories. Like Fletch says about redheads. That is HIS fetish so he is very passionate about it........... same as BBW is with you, and small tits may be for the next person.

It's another one of my "inquiring minds wanna know" things. LOL

Did you not READ what I said, I said we are having this discussion and I wanted to find out more on the subject. This thread did NOT call for your smart remarks. Why you always feel the need to pop in with your smart mouth is beyond me but it is getting REALLY old. I have done nothing to you, so back off!!!

sarah....... well yes I agree on that, BUT shouldn't we have it right if we plan for them to buy from us? I know how mad it makes ME when I get things submitted to me in the wrong category, and if we PUT them in the wrong category, we may lose sales? LOL

Are you that starved for attention that you will take a good oral beating at any cost?

Sad and pitiful yet oddly amusing!:helpme

And back to the question at hand, when I think of BBW I think of Big Beautiful Women:thumbsup

Snake Doctor 01-26-2003 07:16 PM

The only thing I don't like about the whole "BBW" craze (for lack of a better term) is that being overweight is unhealthy.
Sure 10 or 20lbs isn't going to hurt anyone, but being more than 30lbs overweight poses increased risks to your health.

Some women identify themselves so strongly as a "BBW" that they never make any effort to improve themselves or their health.

Sure, you can carry some extra weight and still be beautiful, and there's a lot to be said for being happy with who you are, and having someone love you just the way you are. BUT, I don't think any woman should get so caught up in the "I'm a BBW" mentality that they don't try to control their weight because they'll lose their identity.

So, if a webmaster thinks BBW is big breasted women, puts up sticks with large breasts, and it doesnt convert because the surfer thinks hes looking for something else?

Almost anyone searching online for BBW is looking for fat girls. Those that are looking for Big Breasts, even if using that search term, will quickly find that its not what they are looking for, and search for something else.

NO silly....... I simply wanted to know what WEBMASTERS thought about what this means........ not a surfer.

I get emails all the time where I have mistakenly put the wrong gallery in a wrong category, so I know how surfers are about their fetishes....... I can't keep them coming back if I am forever putting them in the wrong categories......... but I am not interested in what surfers think here............ I have surfer boards, if I wanted their opinions, I would ask them. And no this wasn't meant as a smartass crack..... I do communicate with my surfers on what THEY want on a couple of my sites....... so this was in no way a smartass remark at all. :)

But I wanted to know how webmasters classify this particular one. A gay is a gay, that's obvious......... a babe is a babe..... and a man is a man and a woman a woman....... but this ONE category has always been a state of confusion for ME........ so I wanted feedback on it. LOL
