I have been going through this for the last 6 months, having been diagnosed with a T3B malignant melanoma in December behind my ear. The result is most of my ear was amputated (making me even uglier than before) and am going through regular tests to see if it has spread to lymph nodes. Luckily I think mine was caught early (although my local GP told me in June last year it was only a mole and nothing to worry about - and only went private in November for a second opinion!), so these things are not to be ignored - get it checked out!!

skin cancer is what? 99% curable if you get it checked out in time so as long as you don't wait around and get it looked at you will be fine...

on the flip side if you wait around I've seen what skin cancer can do to people, it is not a painless easy way to go so any talk of 'we all gotta go sometime' is not referring to dying this wa--believe me...

malignant melanoma has a varying survival rate - as low as 15% survival for the worst cases - so always get it checked out.
