I was talking about this one http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0337961/ I think the recommended one is "Under my skin". In my skin is more of art-house type, not for the masses |
The films of Alejandro Jodorowsky have always been faves of mine, but definitely not for those that can't handle a bit of the strange...
Sante Sangre Holy Mountain El Topo |
Hard Candy
Pi Requiem for a Dream Eraserhead The Machinist A Tale of Two Sisters (Korean) Primer Mullholland Drive I third Old Boy (LOVE that flick) |
Anyone mention Gummo?
The Salton Sea is pretty cool as well.. |

Raising Cain (One of my all time favs, John Lithgow plays 5 diff parts in the movie) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105217/ Repo! The Genetic Opera: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0963194/ Tideland: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0410764/ The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1054606/ (I love everything Terry Gilliam has done lol) Dead Man: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112817/ GREAT Jim Jarmusch Flick!! and if you want a VERY (more then usual lol) bizarre David Lynch flick check out Inland Empire: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460829/ pretty much 2+ hours of pure WTF'ness BUT I love Lynch so it was ok lol -Loki- |

Great suggestions!
I thought Human Centipede was overdone and had huge plot holes. Waste of time and disappointing, considering the potential. "Irreversible" will leave you thinking about it days later. "Antichrist" was weird with a sucky ending, but good enough. "Pi" I didn't like much. Again, wasted potential. But maybe it's up your alley. "Metropolis: Restored". See it. It's a must. "Mother / Madeo" Excellent Korean movie. |
Cold Prey
Fritt vilt (original title) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0808276/ Pretty good film. The words don't match the mouth though but other than that it's good. There's a part 2 and 3 also. |

Film-wise Braindead (Roger Cormans production of a Charles Beaumont story starring Bill Pullman, Bud Cort and Bill Paxton, a great mind fuck movie) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099173/ Fever http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0177769/ Southland Tales http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0405336/ People have already mentioned alot of great ones! |
last house on the left (1972) is pretty depressing. or sexy, if you dig on drawn out rape/murder.

I'm not sure that these movies are all that obscure, nor are they all that extreme/weird, but they struck me as deep at the time I watched them:
