"It's so delicious that I can eat 10 eggs a day," said a woman surnamed Liu, who moved to Dongyang several years ago and developed a taste for virgin egg. "I had never eaten it before I came here, but I got addicted to it now."

However, not all Dongyang people are interested in it. One local resident surnamed Li said he never tasted it. "I can't stand the smell. It's awful."

In eyes of many Dongyang people, virgin egg is a perfect tonic for spring. Egg sellers will tell you that it helps to prevent springtime drowsiness and heatstroke in the summer.

However, doctors' opinions vary a lot. Wu Yunhua, a director at the Dongyang Central Hospital told the newspaper that urine contains a kind of crystal that can "diminish the internal heat of human body" and stop bleeding.

But Huang Jian, a physician and the director of Jinhua Central Hospital, contested that there's nothing good for health in the urine. "After all, it is a waste from the body."

Hmm.. never been too adventurous in eating, but if it's in public I could try some new things. I used to really go for the chicken and turkey hearts, but thats pretty normal. I've had roasted grasshopper. Guess what? It's crunchy. Sorry to stretch your imagination so far.

It was last year in Amsterdam. We had a dinner in Okura hotel's restaurant if I'm not mistaken. Japanese stuff. They brought some appetizers and there was something in small teabowls, I didn't know what it was. I was so tired and hungry that I ate it all even without asking what I was eating. Oh well... It tasted like fish, but by the look of the people at the table who saw that I ate that I guess it was something really weird

Bottom line - I still don't know what it was LOL

A raw lizard tail I cut off a 7 inch lizard.
I was half way up a mountain hunting that day and got hungry.
Tasted like shrimp sort of and about the same size.

There was an orchid like plant growing wild there they tasted a lot like asparagus...

Shark fin soup? But god knows if it had actual shark, it was some Chinese restaurant.

Fried ant, a friend had a bag of them, they were basically like crisps, not really a taste explosion. Though maybe they were stale.

I've eaten quite a few odd things playing survival games as a kid.

box turtle, terapin, various snakes, groundhog and chipmunk and vole, crickets and grasshoppers, chubs, suckers, and various varieties of minnows, possum, racoon, and alll kinds of small game.

Many varieties of birds.

mostly roasted on sticks over a fire, but also skin soup, clay cooking, rock cooking, smoked, and dried.

growing up on a farm I killed and butchered and ate most anything that is found on a northeast farm.
