Does Domain Name Systems not have a grace period?

I forgot to renew a domain and someone else already snatched it up. Does anyone know how long the grace period is with Domain Name Systems if you forget to renew a domain?

about 40 days in grace period, then 30 days of redemption period (owner can still reactivate for additional fee), and then 5 days in pendingDelete status.

I think you have 90 days, not sure though.

I think that's Directnic...they have a grace period. I don't think DomainNameSystems does I am don't think my domain has expired over 30 days yet and when I check whois it's a different owner. I think it's been 2 weeks the most.

When I log in the admin my domain is gone. There is no option to renew at an extra fee (which I would be glad to do)

I thought your registrar usually gives you some time as a last chance, then it falls into redemption for 3 months as well.

They do not really have a grace period. I've lost names there after a few days, I've also had names expire for close to two weeks and been able to rereg them.

It seems to depend on wether or not one of their shadowy aggregator drop buyers wants the name.

if one of their aggregators grabbed your name, you are fucked.

Yep, that's what I think too... What is their shadowy aggregator? Is that a service they offer? How can I tell if an aggregator grabbed it?

Not seeing anything about a grace period/ redemption status http://www.domainnamesystems.com/legal.html

As consideration for the domain name registration services provided by DomainNameSystems, you shall pay all non-refundable applicable initial registration fees and renewal fees. You will be notified when renewal fees are due, and it shall be your responsibility to ensure that such fees are paid. Should these fees go unpaid by the expiration date specified in the renewal notice, your registration will be cancelled, and the name can be resold or reassigned to another party. You agree that DomainNameSystems shall have no liability whatsoever with respect to any such cancellation, and that DomainNameSystems may cancel or reassign the domain name in the event of delinquency.

                            They finally emailed me back....

                            Hello Jacki8e

When I look at your acct the domain had expired on May 8th and was not
deleted out of your acct until May 22nd.. which is much longer than generally
allowed for domain expirys. It was deleted from your acct and placed in a
list of expired domains that all our customers have access to.

If you are interested in purchasing the domain back please give me an offer
that you would be willing to offer the current owner of the domain as this
particular customer would not answer any emails you may want to send.

                            thank you
