Would it even be worth starting a new site now? Considering .xxx is coming around the corner, or would it be better to wait until the .xxx becomes into affect and then start an affiliate related blog. I've done a couple of mainstream blogs, but fairly new to adult. Not sure what the laws are in relation to adult related blogs. I live in Canada.

Obviously I've been a member since 2007, but only decided to start becoming more active on this board recently. From what I read I'm not sure if It's still the same or not, but as far as 2257 goes do I just need a link somewhere on my blog to my sponsors 2257page?Comment

Sorry some of these questions maybe dumb. I just wasn't sure what I had to do legally. I was working full time, and my hours got cut at work. I do enjoy writting and thought why not start an adult blog, since I obviosuly enjoy porn as well.Comment

Linking to the sponsors 2257 isn't enough, legally. If you intend to have the content on your site, you need to have the documentation to be completely compliant. It may be safer to just use compliant content and link out to the harder stuff. That being said, it doesn't seem like 2257 is being actively enforced, but better safe than sorry.
I wouldn't worry about .xxx, but I would caution against registering a brand new domain if you want to hit the ground running. To avoid Google's "sandbox effect" you may want to buy a domain with some history, or look at starting with free-hosted blogs. Alternatively, you could buy domains now and point them to a good white-label sponsor (Pimproll has a good domain parking option) so you're not having to pay for hosting while waiting for Google's trust.
