Agreed, my girl has an alfa gt 2004, no problems at all so far other then the starter (which was dead because the car had a bad battery terminal connector so when it was -20c out she kept cranking and cranking until car started).
Problem with alfa's though is the depreciation. The car loses like 70% in the first 2-3 years

You must be a complete retard if you can't figure out how to use Google. I just found the answer within 30 seconds.
Audi redesigned its luxury flagship sedan for 2004, giving it more power and an adjustable suspension. The A8 L retained its aluminum-intensive construction, but now came in only one body length with a wheelbase 2.5 inches longer than the former "stretched" L version. Exterior dimensions were virtually unaltered. Curb weight increased by 240 pounds, and styling changed subtly. Inside, occupants had 1.5 inches less front head room, but about an inch more rear leg space. The A8's engine was again a 4.2-liter V8, which gained 20 horsepower, rated at 330. A six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift gate and sport mode was the sole transmission. It replaced a five-speed automatic. Audi's quattro all-wheel drive remained standard. Replacing conventional steel springs was an air suspension with four driver-selectable settings: ride-oriented Comfort, self-adjusting Automatic, sporty Dynamic, and Lift for deep snow for unpaved surfaces. Front and rear side airbags, front knee airbags, and curtain side airbags were standard. So were ABS, antiskid control, xenon headlights, and a navigation system. If the price difference between 2003 and 2005 is a big difference for you maybe look into a Dodge Neon or similar. |

The bad thing about Alfa's is that they need a service every five minutes.

Depreciation on those cars are ridiculous. I am afraid to know what the repair bills would be on that. As its years out of warranty
I'd suggest looking at a jag instead. |

My girlfriends father drives a 06' A8. He bought it new and has never had a problem with it. The problems with the Audi/VW's mostly happen in the 2.0T engine. That's just my opinion of course.

New model of A8 and A6 started ti built in 2005,or even in 2004 amnot quite sure, while old model was still producing in both 2004 and 2005,am 100% sure.
I had new A6 from 2005 and my friend had older model, but same production age. Like someone mentioned, better take 2006-2009 A6 then old A8 Way big difference
