    Following the wind (pics)

    On Mother's Day I (with an uncle) headed out on a little road trip. I have been kind of a slacker on my blog updates, but I am starting to get caught up a little while I wait for Fed Ex to get here.

    Sunday we spent in Arizona pretty much along I-40 and old Route 66. Here are a few sample pics.










    Monday we left Flagstaff and started working southeast. Our first stop was the Walnut Canyon National Monument which is famous for its cliff dwellings.

                                                      Related at least. I thought it looked more demon like, but I never watched Scooby Doo much. I see the resemblance though.

                                                                                              After leaving the cliff dwellings, we happened across the meteor crater by Meteor City, AZ. It is amazing the hole that is left when a rock hits you at 22,000 MPH.

They really want to make me get the hell away from my computers and travel some. Good for you, BD - glad to see someone getting some sunshine and fresh air.

                                                                                                                          Last summer I was in Las Vegas and went boating and swimming in Lake Meade, right near the hoover dam. If you get a chance to do this while you're there, try it. Being in the water surrounded by those huge red rocks make you feel like you're swimming on Mars or something - feels very alien!

My uncle joined me for the first week then flew back to San Francisco. I have been hanging out in Indiana for a few days and went down to Kentucky today. I am waiting for some storms to start kicking up again before I head back west.

Anyway, after leaving the meteor crater we continued down the road and came to the Painted Desert. If you are ever in the area take an hour (at least) and check it out.

We were in Pigeon Forge in '09. Very nice place to visit.
