30 here and i feel so old

mchacal 05-13-2011 10:30 PM

33 till november

Mutt 05-13-2011 10:42 PM

this industry is aging - all the guys who were young punks when it began are 35-40, i know so many guys who've turned 40 this past year and more turning it this year.

this biz is too hard now - there are nowhere near the number of young newbs coming into it, and of those that do very few will stick around long. the industry will continue to keep skewing older.

46 and it blows, it's bad enough aging yourself but you hit late 30's and 40's and people you know start popping off, parents, your friends' parents, uncles and aunts and even some peers which really does unsettle you. i have a sister who loves to gossip and i hate it, she can't wait to tell me when somebody we grew up with is sick or died and i told her to fuck off, if they're not in my life now i don't want to know about it. if they weren't close enough to us to go to their funeral it's just gossip.

Much less uncomfortable than sticking something big up my ass.

Being sexy is a tough job but somebody's got to do it! LOL

When going by sheer numbers of people that were involved in adult back then, the majority to me seemed to be in their 20s. I was at IA 2000 in New Orleans and definitely felt like one of the older guys there.

Oh I thought when you said "dominated" that you meant the ones who were the big dogs.

And I was at the show as well. Al4a and I went and we fucked up and got the dates wrong and ended up hitting New Orleans a week in advance. LOL!

So we partied for a week ahead of time and then went to the show too.
I guess I was so busy meeting the guys that I need to do business with that I didn't notice the "internet trailer trash" that were there. heh-heh

So that was probably all the young dumb broke ones that wanted to be in porn that I missed.

Couple of guys who were young back then at that show were Andy Edmunds (who thought he was going to represent the entire industry...sound familiar? Seems like one of "those people" pop up every couple of years) and his then partner Bode...both from Flying Crocodile.

They were the youngest successful people that were on a level to even meet with us back then.

oldest one Dave C. I presume.

SallyRand (not in our industry but posts here) I think is near 70

Paul Markham is in his 60s but claims to be retired.

I think most people in adult are in their early to mid 30s. Since most people started 10-15 years ago and were in their late teens early 20s when they started.

exactly. Im 35 now, was 23 when I started and seemed like most were near my age back then, some a little older some a little younger.

I'm pretty young :)

Icy 05-14-2011 01:13 AM

Will be 36 in August, started in the adult biz when i was 23, 13 years ago.

Feel way younger now than in the past years when i was just sitting in front of a computer for 14 hours per day. Now i have lost 9kg that gained over those years, go to the gym or run daily, play competitive soccer in an amateur league on weekends, work 8 hours per day in a brand new office, so i'm more productive than those old 14 hours days, enjoy more free time with my wife and kid, etc.

Being in good shape also helped to motivate me again to keep working my ass off, and it's helped to return to old TGP years profit now that everybody is talking about the sky falling over us.

Life is great at 35 :)

sojproductions 05-14-2011 01:24 AM

Old enough to have watched the Moon Landing, remember black and white TV and also remember when Quadraphonic was going to be the next big thing in audio. My first computer had less than 1 kilobyte of memory, the first Star Wars movie amazed me, if you wanted to ring someone when not at home you put 10 cents in a phone box, paper bags were the norm at the supermarket, calculators were a novelty followed by digital watches which were also a novelty. I'm under 50 years old.

Oracle Porn 05-14-2011 05:12 AM

I've stopped counting on 30 and it was few years back. Once you stop counting, it is much easier. I will consider myself young and live like that as long as I can.

CaptainHowdy 05-14-2011 06:33 AM

I'm legal if that's what you're asking ...

I know that quite well... My first job in the industry was in May 2000 and I worked for both of them... when FCI owned YNOT. When they flew me up to the Seattle offices for training, I felt like a chaperone.
