Let me repeat that statistic again. METH HAS A RELAPSE RATE OF OVER 92%. That is higher than cocaine addiction stats.
Now you can continue spreading your misinformation, but you have no ground to stand on as of this point.

Look it up. Try the merck manual, one of the essential books for medical practice. Page 1492 on the one I have here, 15th edition. Page 1477 has a chart also, and a short description of the difference between psychic depence and physical dependence (their terminology). It describes "amphetamine dependence" as being psychic not physical, says that if there are any withdrawal symptoms they are mild and short lived. The exact sentence goes "The withdrawal syndrome, if one exists, is not severe.". Note the phrase "if one exists" - in the merck manual.
It's habit forming but not technically physically addictive, it doesn't cause physical dependence or significant physical withdrawal. Not in the way that chemicals like nicotine, alcohol, barbituates, opiates, and most of the antiaxiolytics do. You can stop taking it at any time and the big physical reaction is that you fall asleep because you are exhausted.
Marijuana, cocaine, and the hallucinogens are also listed in the class of chemicals that cause psychic but not physical dependence.
Now, I understand, you want to combine physical dependence and psychic dependence, to you if a thing is habit forming that means it's "addictive". Sex addiction, porn addiction, internet addiction, gambling addiction, all the "moral" psychic addictions, they're bad, mkay, right? Unless it's the physical addiction (dependence) to the governmentally approved drugs like alchohol and tobacco and prescription cns depressants, which cause hugely more deaths and misery than all the illegal drugs combined, that's okay, our society can handle those, those drugs aren't "evil", and are morally acceptable.
Thats fine, I don't mind, your beliefs are your business not mine. You have the right to believe what you like.
My belief is that false information is the problem, not the solution, and that the government shouldn't be promoting false information even if they believe it's for your moral good.

This is quite humorous as I'm usually the one pushing scientific facts.
If you want lump meth with some of the other mild drugs like marijuana to bolster your case, that's fine.
If you want to bring up the difference between psychic and physical dependence, that's fine as well.
If you want to say that I'm pushing false evidence that is government sponsored, then that's your prerogative.
My simple retort is that you should update your knowledge with some of the more recent research that was done in the past few years (2008-2010) instead of relying on an outdated edition of a Merck manual and using it as a crutch.
Trivializing this drug in the way you are is just plain irresponsible.
The FACT still remains that METH has a 92% relapse rate. (a slight bit more or less depending on the research studies used)
That means 92% of the persons who take meth and attempt to stop taking it eventually go back to using a drug that unlike the relative benign effects of marijuana (or insert some other moderate-level physically addictive drug) actually causes SERIOUS physiological deterioration and severe brain damage in the limbic and hippocampus regions.
Even alcohol does damage to the brain and body, but not on that level, not as quickly. This puts Meth in a COMPLETELY different category. A person on meth is instantly put on the fast track to poisoning themselves to death. Every major system of the body is affected in a devastating way.
Few drugs have such a potent effect on the body. Period.
All of your other side arguments regarding government (and its sponsored drugs of tobacco and alcohol), philosophy and even morals are just a distraction from the reality that Meth users are killing themselves quickly. Even if they are able to stop using the substance in a relatively short time from the point when they started, it is amazing how much permanent damage they will do to their bodies. That's not hype or misinformation. Those are the facts.Comment
