Exactly. Its just started being re-shown here in the UK, from the very start. My 'Box' has recorded the 1st 5 episodes, I've just seen ep1, and I am just starting ep2...
I know it takes a wile to get into new shows, but thats why I wondered if there were any tips for this 'awesome' series

I wish I could be you, experiencing it for the first time again.
I would say to have patience for the first few episodes, and you'll be hopelessly hooked. It's not the type of show that tries to give you everything right away -- it's more of a slow cooker -- and the entire series is connected like one big novel.
Having watched the Wire will make you a more awesome person.

It's a great series. You have to give it some time because there are so many characters and it takes a while to develop, but you will be glad you did once you get into the 2nd season.Comment

To sum up what I said earlier....it's more of a "big picture" enjoyment you will get after you've seen all seasons. Not to say there aren't some great isolated moments also.
