So yesterday I get a knock on the door and some drunk dude from down the street that I had never met before starts raving on with a gun in his hand about how he's going to kill my cat. He claimed that my cat opened his sliding screen door, came into his house and attacked his cat and now his cat is badly hurt and won't come out from under his bed. I told him to take his cat to the vet and I will pay for it, then he starts going on about my cat being over there every day blah blah. I know this is a lie, my cat had ran out the door a few hour earlier while carrying groceries in, and he has gotten out a few times before but certainly not on a daily basis.
He tells me he will send me the bill and I said no problem and he leaves. I kinda felt bad for the guy, I would be pissed to if someone elses cat did that so I decided to go over to his house to check it out and apologize. When I get there his cat was standing next to the door rubbing up against it purring, not a hair on the cat was out of place and it certainly didnt look or act like it had just been in a fight. I asked him if he was going to take the cat to the vet and he said he was going to wait a day to see how it acts. He then shows me the screen door and there were a few cat claws in it, he his cat couldnt of done it because its declawed and that he never lets it outside, yet on his patio was yellow cat hair. Then he starts pointing to at least half a dozen different neighbors saying they all want to kill my cat.
He then tells me he wants me to pay for his screen door and I told him I would look into how much screen doors are and get back to him. Afterwords I started thinking about it and nothing about this adds up, his cat didnt show any signs of physical or emotional trauma, and who the fuck would leave their hurt animal, grab a gun and go chase another cat half a block and knock on someones door acting like a fucking lunatic? Its possible my cat did claw his door but I don't know what to think at this point. Part of me thinks I should just pay for the door and be done with it, but another part of me wonders if this guy is making up some of this story and the fact that he was waving a gun at my front door is fucking bullshit.
