It is amazing that they were able to pull off 9/11 and although I don't think it was an 'inside job' I certainly don't rule out people in the Bush admin knowing it was going to happen and letting it happen, no better way to push an agenda than through fear.

I don't think though the fact that bin Laden wasnt living a life of luxury or didnt have all the latest technology is any indication of what they are capable of, doesnt really take a lot of money or brains to really fuck shit up if that is your intention.

It's only an indication that he was laying low. Obviously he could not fly in the latest technology or people in the surrounding would have wondered what's going on in that house. That cheap equipment is probably what they were selling locally and what a regular joe would be able to afford over there.

Either way, not too glamorous of a life. Perhaps his many wifes made up for it

If they really want to drive fear into the world and turn it into a police state, all they need to do is randomly blow up schools, churches, malls, bus stops.... and do it often. killing 3000 people was a lucky accident. They flew the planes into the buildings, but if it weren't for the collapse of the building, the only casualties would have been in the planes and the points of impacts. They got some free numbers boost from the collapse.
