I think perhaps, Chris listed the people that most helped him in his career so far...? :2 cents:

I believe all bolts are screws but all screws are not bolts.

Omitting the included subset of ICM employees, I'm taking that to be a list of people who turned down the job, leaving it to Chris, ICM's clear 23rd best choice, to accept it.

I wonder if they had to sign an NDA before they had a "frank" conversation with ICM?

How many NDAs have you seen that said you can't say anything about it until Xbiz does?

Sort of makes your butt cringe a little, doesn't it?

I suspect there is going to be some major ass fucking going on here soon. Deals have been made everywhere. Maybe not with everyone on that list, but it's all going to come shining here soon.

Angus McBagpipe 05-06-2011 01:06 PM

The real problem is "news agencies" using the term tapped for press releases. Man I hate that overused term for being HIRED.

MaDalton 05-06-2011 01:06 PM

there's too much screwing in this thread

Sorry, I have a problem thinking Ron Cadwell was approached, but as you are the minister of sarcasm. . . .

Well, since ICM, I thought, was supposed to handle the billing part of .xxx, it makes me wonder how CCBILL fits into the equation. However, I think it makes more sense to use them than some fledgling processor.

The FSC, I can't see how they fit into the mix.

I'd bet a lot of people were approached. It's those who took them up on the offer that is troublesome.

Honestly, there is no telling how deep this goes and who is going to come out of the woodwork. If you think about it, if you bring people out in stages and give them somewhat legit reasons, it will look natural. That's what I would do anyway.

You gotta slowly cook the frogs. Can't just toss them in boiling water. :2 cents:

I only tried them once, was not impressed. In fact, I gave them to the people at the next table. Is it possible they were cooked too fast?

ThatOtherGuy - BANNED FOR LIFE 05-06-2011 01:15 PM

Speaking of CCBILL...

Anyone know if CCBILL decided they will be turning away .XXX sites transactions?
CCBILL made any statements about that?

Or we all going to be shocked and dismayed when it finally happens? I can honestly say I wont be surprised when the day comes.

In fact I will go so far as to say that those transactions will offer better rates and maybe even cheaper Visa Approvals.

Just more nails in the inevitable coffin of truth.

See that's the beauty of this... buying is the opposite of "protecting yourself" ... in actuality, I believe, puts you at greater risk for a number of reasons. So all the people who think they're savvy, ruthless businessmen and will buy these things quietly... they're screwing themselves, and that's poetic justice.

Best of luck in your new position Chris - I did not see it coming, and I am against .XXX (also on the EU Advisory board of ASACP), but nonetheless, best of luck!

Well, in all honesty O.... the one who puts up a news story like this "first" is the one who gets the information "first." And how do you get information about a company announcing changes to its staff? Why, the company with the news to announce SENDS it to you.

It's not like YNOT and AVN and XBIZ are all calling Chris daily asking if he got a new job somewhere.

So... no, I think this news was, for whatever reason, GIVEN to them first.

ThatOtherGuy - BANNED FOR LIFE 05-06-2011 01:19 PM

well its hard to say, as the press release was all sent at the same time,as far as I know. So perhaps, who ever opened it 1st and thought enough of it to run with it, is WINNING ?:upsidedow

Not only that...but if you have your trademark (like I do) then you don't have to buy a damn thing. You just wait for some idiot to buy it and then you take it from them. And if and when that happens...I'll just let it sit there and expire. And then when someone else buys it...I will rinse and repeat.

I have no intention of giving them my money.
