What is a proper one? where? I mostly don't like tattoos on women. Very few that I think look cool.

i will have to go on a case by case basis. but arms & shoulders are off limits for instance. skulls are a no no unless you're bombshell mcgee. playboy bunny heads are no go.

I live in a pretty conservative city, whose major industries are churches and banking - and I see soccer moms hopping in and out of minivans and crossover SUVs with visible ink all day long. To me, tattoos are like earrings or dyed hair: pretty much everyone's gonna have 'em, it's what they do with it that colours my perception.

Brown hair with caramel highights and pearl earrings? She's gonna have a butterfly or stars on her somewhere, and probably has three kids in private school taking lacrosse lessons.

If it's for sales, then personal opinion has to be set aside. If it's for personal relationship, everyone elses opinions are set aside.

I always wish they were on canvas so I could stare at it without being a creep staring at a person.

I don't think girls, especially young girls should get them where they aren't discreet, having them from one end to the other is a little tacky to me, but to each his/her own. I have two of them myself, but they are in places I can hide them if I want to or show them if I want. Being a female, I think that is how it should be done on girls. This way, if they regret it later, they do have the options of hiding them... and a lot of young girls do end up regretting it... when you are older and know what you are going to do with your life, have at it. At 18, there is going to be a lot of changing going on in their lives and a lot of regret, we've all been there... just keep them discreet until you have settled into your life and know what you are going to do with it. Don't make such drastic decisions when you are only 18.

And yes, I have two tats myself, but they are discreet, I can show them if I choose or not at all. The first one I got when I was in my 20s and second was in my 30s, and you'd never know they were there if I didn't want you to.... ankle and left shoulder. lol

Tattoos is just a turnoff for me, dont know why. But tramp stamps are OK.

Tattoos arent for everyone. I am more offended by a tribal tramp stamp than an oldschool sailor tattoo on a girl any day.

1) does it say anything about me?
2) does it look good
3) will it look good when and if I make it to 70 years old

The people that care about tats are yuppies... For the record, I have never went to fuck a girl, saw her tattoos and said "Oh... what a turn off!"... Giant plugs in her ears are another matter entirely. That shit looks disgusting to me.
