I was planning to see Hendrix in Seattle when he was supposed to be the opening act for the Monkees, but he dropped out of the tour (true story).

I've seen Pete Townsend thrash a few guitars... :)

one of the times I saw him he was the opening act for Bob Marley and yes I have seen the WHO and their set destruction in Toronto:winkwink:

If you saw Hendrix open for Marley then you must've taken some form of very powerful hallucinogen because that never actually happened.

Marley was pretty much still completely unknown and would not have headlined for Hendrix by the time Jimi died.

No worries... I was completely straight at a really really really awesome Dead show once and I started raving about what a great Chinacat/Rider they played when someone informed me that they hadn't even played those songs... and I am the kind of Deadhead that could not only tell you what songs they did on any given night in thousands of sets but what guitar Jerry played and what color shirt he was wearing...
