Noooo my google! Real content being sandboxed?

What has google been doing lately? I've noticed a rather startling drop off in google traffic lately. Articles that used to sit on page one or page two are slipping back, being replaced by stuff that isn't really relevant to the keywords. Ezine article submissions seem to be getting stuff completely deleted from the results, new and old sites alike. I wouldn't usually mind because stuff disapears and reapears sometimes, no big deal. Except my stuff has been disapearing and remaining gone.

Anyone else noticing a google drop? Pissin' me off, mang.

It's been going on for a while now...

As a 'surfer' I've been complaining for a long time about the crappy results Google's been returning. Problem is they stopped listening to the user and try to predict what they think the user is actually looking for. They include (what they think are relevant) synonyms, they ignore excluded words etc.

As a webmaster I prefer Yahoo traffic over Google traffic. I prefer 1000 visitors coming from Yahoo over 10000 coming from Google. Why? because ratios are better on Yahoo traffic...
It could be an indication that those Yahoo users are actually getting what they are looking for....

Google has sand boxed my relevant results for an offline service in a specific city (we offer the actual service, we are not just resellers) and replaced it with a general spam site that has no operations in the city and is set up only to sell Google ads. For people to find an actual service provider operating in the city they have to go to page 2 or further. It is a pretty strange strategy they have going right now.

They have forced me to buy ads so I guess it is working...... I guess the days of free listings for relevant results is over.
