I'm tired of working and dealing with people

Everyday I seemed to be surprised about what morons are out there and able to somehow hold jobs or even run companies.

I dont know if its just straight out ignorance, but I feel that I am always cleaning up everyone's mess and doing everyone else's job because they feel they dont need to do theirs or to busy talking/facebook/youtube to do anything.

Its not just working with employees, but also with clients. For some reason, they think their measly monthly fees mean I should be available to them 24/7. I just fired a client at the beginning of this month who came back with an email saying he was going to sue me

Seriously, I need to win the lottery for a few million and just sit back and work on my sites and deal with the morons only on ICQ/AOL about link trades

I know the feeling all to well. It has been about a year, i decided to take an insane pay cut, i mean almost down to 0 and use all my money towards surviving during my own projects.

It has been a hell of a ride, but i am about a month from it being paid off, which will be one LONG month until it happens.

But bridging the gap between clients and 100% on your own is a massive relief.

I can tell you from experience doing both never worked. You have to choose one or the other. Going at it 50% of the time even on your own just doesnt cut it. But the short term sacrifice not having that pay cheque coming in is worth the risk going for that freedom of working for yourself.

The problem with my field is its driven based on clients - PPC & SEM. I either work directly with a company or two and manage their accounts, have clients of my own or lease my technology to other agencies.

So ideally, id be nice to just sell that off and find something that does not involve managing a team of 14 morons or dealing with annoying clients

I did the same. About 2 years ago... I call it semi retirement...

I used to do all sorts of stuff for other people, all the time. Some paid well, some not so well, but I found that as I worked for more and more people, the more my own stuff suffered...

So I cut it out. Finished up all projects and declined new ones to focus on my own site.

Its proved to be the best decision I ever made. Not only is my own site doing well, but the headaches and stress are gone...

No more drinking because of stress. Life is good

So just do your own thing. Its much simpler in the long term...

I did 100% design client work for about 8 years so i know the feeling all to well.

i wouldnt change anything because it taught me alot and by alot i mean multiple industries.

but now doing my own stuff it *is* still stressful. but when that first bigger payday comes in it will be smooth sailing.

I dont trust any of them specially the way they carry on with other players threatning to kill each other in real life complaining that other players are cheating or they are being bullied and all kinds of other crap. I hear what you're saying, but it's not much easier working with non-humans.

These guys can't agree on anything!...

They all just talk over each other, and I can't figure out what direction any of them want to take their project in. In fact, I'm not even clear what their project even is at this point!

I'm on the verge of just letting them figure it out themselves... damned rodents!!

I've been completely off the teat for over a year and it's been nice. My own shit has grown nicely because of it. I still do odd stuff for people just to break my week or month up... Have interaction with another human...

In the past i've found that the biggest cheats usually turn out to be quite good at converting to game staff and end up being rather strict instead of dishing out favours.
