    Johnny V, .xxx and asacp... Question...

    Correct me if any of this is wrong,
    Did Johnny V not go down to columbia or wherever in Dec or January to talk to icann saying he was director of the asacp and pro .xxx ???
    Then immediately after asacp sent a pr out saying that he wasn't authorized to speak on their behalf ???
    Saying in the pr that his message wasn't authorized and that he was just a volunteer???

    Fast FWD to 2 or 3 months later...

    The asacp awards him at the xbiz awards with a service recognition award...

    If this is all said to be correct then ....

    Why would they denounce him going down there speaking like it's on their behalf and then give him an award
    (out of ALL of the other people and companies and asacp volunteers in the entire industry)
    Only 2 or 3 months after releasing PR dealing with the January icann issue....

      I wonder. Especially after Joan Accepted a job at IFOR today. I am sure it was all just some rouge employee that set all this up. does that work in the non-profit sector like it does int he paysite sector?

              Call me crazy, but if someone goes out grossly misrepresenting my company, I'd want their head on a stick and would consider legal action. At the very least they wouldn't have a job anymore.

              Certainly wouldn't be awarding them!

              So either it was all planned and he got caught... or asacp is extremely forgiving... am i missing anything?

                                  ICM "donates" $10 of every .xxx registration to IFFOR

                                  Clearly it's in the best interest for the people behind .xxx to get .xxx MANDATED for all adult sites.. they will make bank, and so will IFFOR!

                                  IFFOR needs to spend that $10 on creating and promoting a .KIDS TLD that will only have child friendly content, thus truly protecting children and giving them a safe haven on the internet.

                                                          My thoughts exactly, I wasn't aware they awarded Johnny that award. It already stunk before that, but that just secures any doubt I had about whether ASACP knew what Johnny was doing down in Columbia the whole time. I never believed Johnny made that trip all on his own dime, whether the money came from ASACP or ICM, who knows.
