so i was surfing looking for BBQ stuff and was on this site that sells slow cookers. On the left is a Flash thing where a dude in a cowboy hat pops up and he's your cheesy host of the website. He introduces himself as "Grant" and I look at the video for 10 seconds and I'm thinking this guy looks familiar - but I can't think from where, maybe a soap opera.

Then it hits me, the oldest son from Eight is Enough lol I go google to see if I'm right and yep, the guy's real name is Grant.

so you're in your 20's, great looking dude and you're on a big network TV show at a time when being on a network TV show was huge since cable TV was in its infancy, probably dating your pick of women, making big money - fast forward 30 years and you're in your 50's and the mascot on an Internet website selling BBQ equipment

yeah it does happen to people in other industries too but showbiz because it revolves around youth and beauty it's harder to get old. actresses just seem to disappear after 40, some even after 30. male actors can hang on into their 40's and sometimes older but many are forced to become character supporting actors or...........be mascots on websites or sell real estate or whatever they gotta do to make a living.

in business, medicine, law, journalism, writing etc you reach the peak of your career much later.
