Your posts remind me of this truth: the things we hate in others exist in our own hearts--fueling further hate. :) :winkwink: I usually benefit from your critiques of my posts (changed format, more commentary, more cross references) but can't get anything out of this one. i don't really understand this argument or move towards a world free of religion. a lot of the 'common sense' examples listed in what you said stem directly/indirectly from religion and the benefits it has for the species.

concerns me how a lot of 'christian' ideals are suspiciously along the lines of 'socialist' ideals, and maybe that's why public opinion is forming against organized religion through constant and repetitive messages

That's a slightly less cute version of the old "takes one to know one" argument. It doesn't matter how eloquently it is worded, it's still bullshit. There's nothing you can teach me. The braindead tools of GFY might love your copy and paste horseshit but some of us see it for what it is (sig spam).

Fuck the Koran and fuck the Bible. I wipe my ass with both of them. Fuck the barbarians. Send the B-2s and solve the problem for good. Rubble does not make trouble.

The bible is known to be written about events and things in some peoples various opinions, like a blog about a tv show. The koran is more like the actual script.

You are both fucking pathetic. Just convert to Islam already so you can stop cowering. :1orglaugh

What is the use? They would probably get off pleading diminished capacity (insanity).
They are definitively certifiable ...[/INDENT]

Wow..... you actually believe that burning a fucking Koran should be a crime? That is some really pathetic drivel. I am going to go dip a fucking Koran in urine and call it art and get a fucking NEA grant and then you will understand how it is actually "artistic expression"..... you are fucking irredeemable moron. :321GFY

Whats your problem? I'm roman catholic. As if that means something.

Or is shining some intelligent light on a subject against your religion?

Sausage 04-04-2011 06:39 PM

Nothing would happen. It's open season on Christians. Any other faith and you have to be tolerant and respect them but when it comes to christianity anything goes.

Last I read some 9 UN workers were murdered by a bunch of Muslim Extremists pissed off that some Christian Extremists burnt their "holy book."
Talk about a stupid reason to die.
And an even stupider thing to either incite or perpetrate.
Justifying either side is without any merit.

Those UN workers died for a good cause?

Name the cause ?

Kabul, Afghanistan

For the fourth straight day, Afghans protested in response to a US pastor burning a copy of the Quran in Florida. At least 22 people have died, including seven UN workers, as a result of the demonstrations across the country that began Friday.
22 total dead now ...
They got what the wanted I guess ...

isnt casting labels based on what people feel the very problem you have with religion in the first place?

What a bunch of friendly folk we have here on GFY. Especially when the subject of religion comes up!

Isn't somewhat ironic that usually, when people are defending their religion, they usually do so in a manner that completely contradicts their religion? Go figure...

Nope, "casting labels" has absolutely, positively nothing to do with it.

BlackCrayon 04-04-2011 07:34 PM

anyone acting so irrational regarding what someone else does with an inanimate object goes to show their lack of sanity and common sense. its a book, it might mean a lot to you but what someone else does with it only has meaning if you allow it to. people need to get a grip on both sides.

CaptainHowdy 04-04-2011 07:35 PM

Who do the hell actually believes you can have a theological discussion on GFY?? Most don't even know why they don't believe in God ...

do you think religion, or spirituality lets say, played a part in the evolution of humanities 'morality'?

You're a fucking idiot. Burning that shitty book didn't cause "death and protest." Savage muslims did. Flaming qurans don't kill people, muslims kill people.

What Muslim country (or countries) were we occupying on September 11, 2001?

That's right. None.

They don't need a reason.

Or at least not a rational one.
