Ohhh, don't kid yourself, there's definitely some very wealthy and powerful people out there who would like to see 70% of the world's population wiped from the face of the earth. We're running out of resources!
Whether or not that happens remains to be seen, but personally, I highly doubt it. Us humans aren't intelligent enough to pull that off anyway, at least not without killing 100% of people.
