    Does anyone have an example of a decent porn site?

    There are lots of trolls out here - that claim a lot of things and It'd be good to see what's actually popular around these parts.

                                                  For example, if a site is just annoying to navigate and browse content - then that will put of a visitor or potentially regular member.

                                                                          Not traffic, not design and they are needed but a great deal of traffic and a great design doesn't make a pornsite great. Look at Tubes, lousy design, loads of content, loads of traffic and lousy conversion ratios.

                                                                          If you want to make a great porn paysite the top requirement is great content. If you are opening a site to compete with Playboy, Penthouse styles you employ a Playboy, Penthouse shooter. Not someone who has never sold a set to them or never likely to.

                                                                          If you want a great Gonzo, Amateur or Reality site you employ a great Gonzo, Amateur or Reality shooter and you DON'T shoot in Russia, Czech, Hungary or any country where the girls can't speak a word of English.

                                                                          And the same goes for all types of porn.

                                                                          What you don't do is load the site with cheap, repetitive porn that's soul less and shot by people who can't work in the offline porn business because they're cheap.

To make be a great site it has to be great content and in some way different from the other sites in it's niche. Too many sites today churn out the same old tired ideas that have been done to death. Even sites from people like Manwin are full of poor to average content with scenarios that were old hat before the Internet came into porn.

                                                                              And yes there are newish ideas that haven't been completely done to death.

                                                                              So what stops people?

                                                                              You can't shoot great porn for the budgets sponsors pay. They are happier to spend 50% of their turnover throwing traffic at it that's not very impressed when it gets to the site and leaves.

If you placed a high quality, closeup photo of a flower with all its beauty in amongst a load of porn photos, most people would flick through the porn, then stop on the flower, because of the creativity & quality of the photo.

With only a little content in a site, one becomes bored, maybe never to return. The depth & extent of the content is extremely important. Its ok having a crap load of the same but to have lots of different niches taken to the max, available in the same area. It's extremely simplistic, everyone knows the universal layout and knows where the "top rated", "most viewed", "categories" etc links are, it is standardized. You can't design a members area much more member friendly than that unfortunately. And that's another reason tubes are so popular. They are setup better than 95% of paysites. Yesssss we know all the free porn is what attracted everyone to them and made them familiar with the design, but that's really besides this point. The design is great, piracy and whatnot aside.

HOWEVER, there are thousands of small tubes that turn amazing profits and convert like 2005 or better. You simply choose to only focus on the major ones that hoard the majority of porns freeloaders and can't convert a paysite for shit. There are many different types of tubes. Apparently this is a secret or something to everyone here but, one example of a great tube is one ran by 1-2 people, hand picked QUALITY amateur videos, REAL amateur videos, the homemade stuff, nothing from producers, videos can be any length it doesn't matter but longer videos are best because no one is going to glance twice at a site with a bunch of 2 minute videos, ads placed where ever it doesn't really matter either but around the video player at least, and with nice ads you will have 3%-20% CTR and ratios between 1:50-1:500 and traffic building FAST. Where's the complaint? Of course no free porn available would be the ideal situation, but this is the reality and people have found a way to run a tube that isn't all about free porn and no profit. Don't fucking comment about all the free porn on it because that is a given at this stage in the game or at least irrelevant in the point I'm trying to make. Maybe one day we can find a solution. But for now you CAN build traffic fast as a motherfucker and CONVERT IT. PERIOD.

To be great online your design (has to be user-friendly and achieve business goals) and everything around it still count for a LOT.
