No more porn on a .com, only on .xxx?

Hi All,

I know, I'm lazy... I probably should do my own homework. But I was reading up a bit on the .xxx domains stuff. What I still do not get is if "porn" will be banned from .com, .net or .org. In other words, will adult content be forbidden to be put online on a non .xxx domain? And if so, who is going to enforce that? And what about the "level" of porn. Softcore allowed or not? Nude, no-nude?

I'm a "small" adult webmaster and still in the process of buying domains and putting content on them. So should I continue to buy domains and use them as such? Or should I already start to invest in .xxx domains?

In fact the only thing I can see .xxx doing is giving even more value to .com and .net tlds. Sure, you can have sex.xxx but in the end that only makes sex.com even more valuable.

but no one is hostil to Tvs and Radio stations like they do to porn at some countries right?

people are worried, because banning the whole domain is easier then banning sites from differant extentions, E.g: i have some Arabic sites, even though some Arab countries bannned porn, they have to realize my site before it gets banned and until that time i can benefit from that traffic.

So it's not just an extention like ".fm and .tv" as you mentioned.

So let's get this right - they'll attempt to get porn companies to sign up for xxx - then ban xxx - so the companies go back to their dot com. They've already attempted to get rid of adult sites and failed including I am pretty damned sure they looked at banning adult from dot com

Well, I rather not... hence my questions, should I? I have a small budget and I rather invest in a domain (tld) which remains it's value. Let's say I buy a .com domain and start putting in the effort and cash. Building backlinks, buying unique content, etc. What happens if all the sudden Im "forbidden" to have adult content on that domain? Sure, the content is still mine and I can probably move that over to any other (.xxx?) domain. But what about my efforts in building the backlinks?
