Between your google searches, gmail and if you use google dns... they know 100% of what you do online. I think its just amazing how Facebook knows who people are before they sign up, just based on others searches for the name.. I know a guy who signed his brother up and within 30 seconds had friend requests coming in from people in our home town. As people become more and more comfortable with the internet it's moving beyond a need for just titties. It's all about offering something for free and data mining now.

From the other hand most people are not advanced computer users and they have no idea how to protect themselves from that kind of traps.

its a satire vid but with alot of truth inside it. People just hand out their personal information online without thinking it through & without getting anything in return, just the ability to attention whore on a website. While that same personal information is the most valuable and expensive data to companies and governments...
