Besides Tube Sites, What Are The Top 5 Adult Traffic Sources?

We all know Traffic is King, and we all know the big tube sites have all the traffic. But do they have "all" the traffic? Obviously not, as any quick look at your stats will tell you. But as an affiliate, what are the top 5 traffic sources on the Web today?

Or, if you like, what are YOUR top 5 traffic sources, for you? Are they the free sites you build, or the TGPs you submit galleries to? Are they, in fact, your own tube sites, or blogs you created specifically for a sponser?

Do you buy traffic and not even deal with creating or submitting to traffic sources? If so, what are your top 5 "types" (Geo-targeted, skimmed, clicked-through, re-directed, etc) of traffic to buy?

Everyone has their own method of acquiring traffic but I think it's interesting to see what you all think is the most effective. Each experience is differant, it's true, but do the "old ways" still work? How good ARE the social networks for traffic? What should someone interested in traffic-building concentrate on?

Tubes are proof that MASSIVE AMOUNTS of content given away for FREE is King. Not just "content", because if content itself, on it's own, in and of itself, were "king" then great content would always float to the top. But you and I both know there's a lot of great "undiscovered" non-mainstream porn "out there", sometimes being produced by people who are wonderful artists but semi-fail at generating traffic/interest.

So again: you can have killer content but no traffic and it's like the tree falling in the forrest, the great car in the garage no one ever sees or drives, etc.

But this is like a chicken or the egg argument. LOL The "truth" is that when great content meets great traffic then THAT is King. Like a peanut butter-and-jelly sandwich. :D

Search engine traffic is the biggest and best. Tube sites aren't even "adult traffic sources" if you think about it. Why would anybody click out of a site full of thousands of full porn scenes for free?

Millions of 15 year olds are jerking to tubes everyday. And so are every other age group.

Search engine traffic on the other hand is still real good. The mass numbers aren't there like we used to deliver to paysites from our TGP's. But the quality is still golden.

Now as for thinking "outside the box". Again, you're not really doing anything except making general statements.

Here's the facts for ya...take it for what it's worth: We sell PORN. If you are selling something else, then you aren't in this business. That's not "thinking outside the box", that's literally just doing something else.

I still make about $300,000 a year just in my affiliate work. And that is basically in shambles compared to the 1.2 mil a year I was making pre-piracy as an affiliate.

And that "big titted girl website" that you kind of berated? It makes a LOT more. YOU need to think "outside the box" and realize that I'm just a little bit faster and a little bit smarter (stole that line from Ric Flair...WOOOO! ) (unfortunately he said that right before he lost the title )

I understand what you're saying. But it's not really relevant to what I actually DO. I'm in the porn business. I sell it. I create it. I'm not interested at this stage of the game in doing something else. I'm still having a great time in this business.

I enjoy it. And I learn new things everyday and implement them in what I do. Just sucks to see other people steal everybodies work and monetize it for themselves.

But yeah...if I ever grow tired of this I'll move on to do something else. Don't know what it is. Doubt it would ever be what you suggested. I am, and always have been an entertainer at heart.

It's what I'm best at. I have natural abilities for it. It's how I've been able to do well selling porn and writing, shooting, directing it.

Now trying to sell a turnkey webcam solution? I doubt very seriously that I would be successful at that. I learned a long time ago to work my strengths and avoid my weaknesses. I'm an overachiever brother. I have to outwork other people. I have no choice.

So when I do something...I have to make damn sure I love it.

I watched a live streaming cam show of your girl. The reception was incredible and you mentioned what you used and briefly how it turned out so good.

That type of live feed quality is money, you could work it... just sayin'

Anybody googling "webcam software", "cam software", "cam solutions"... etc. etc. You already know how to do it... why not sell the solution in a pack?

It's not really something I could sell. Everything I'm doing is easily done by anyone as far as the set up is concerned on that.

The problem for most folks is they don't have or don't want to spend the money to do what we do. Flash Media Server is the brawn behind that. And that's a $1,000 piece of server software.

Yeah, a grand ain't much...but you'd be surprised at how quick most people jump back from that.

And then the rest of the "package" is just me having the ability to build her "stage", light it up correctly, and use a quality vid cam and sound gear.

That's all factors as to why her cam looks so good. Hell, I've got a prosumer camera for a "webcam" on her that rides on top of a motorized pan-head with 10 grand of aluminum trussing for her set, kino lighting, a motorized fuck machine, a $1700 Shure wireless mic (a top of the line wireless that I used in my band)...and lots more.

Not many out there put that kind of money or thought into doing a cam show.

I literally can't sell that.

I can (and have) explained in detail to many of my friends HOW to do the technical part of it. I got on the phone with my buddy JC's guy at OC Cash and explained it and wrote it all out in emails for him to help them get their solo girl site project off the ground last year for instance.

I've always been the kind of guy who didn't mind one bit helping out my peers. It always comes back to me in one way or another.

But selling it? Too many variables in the server alone. Too many packages that have to be installed and can't work if other conflicting packages are there, etc.

So unfortunately that won't work for me.

But it's gonna take some time to set it all up and some serious research too Mr. Peabody. Once you get it all in place you can then hire yourself an outsource cheap labor person to do the upkeep (I'm doing everything myself personally...I'm a control freak)

I figure anything I do in any traffic-building area will take time and attention so I thought it best to make good decisions upfront before I wasted months just plunging in.

I'd love to do everything myself, especially the writing, but I've got an entire network to run. LOL But finding "good" (whatever that means) outsourced help can also be tricky I would think. Anyway, thanks for the link man!
