The new app accepts voice input for 15 languages, and?just like the web app?you can translate a word or phrase into one of more than 50 languages. For voice input, just press the microphone icon next to the text box and say what you want to translate

Only drawback is that you must be online with phone to use it OR basically save your most used sentences and play them when you need it.

I actually downloaded it yesterday after watching Daily Planet - works amazing and accurate though as said - you need to have net to work outdoors when talking to someone but it saves anything you may want to ask. So now - you walk up to anyone who speaks any language - say what you want - it immediately translates it - plays it back and you can do the same with them.
