where does hate come from? Frustration and feelings of futility. Why would they be frustrated at homosexuals existing? Probably because they can't join without being ridiculed or humiliated by more people like them.

Some people just hate anyone who is different and choose not to control it. Hating things/people/others that are different is something that is completely innate with any living being on this planet. So you are right, not all people who hate homosexuals are homosexuals themselves--but if they go out of their way to advertise it? ;)

I belong to a group where being gay is not accepted, yet i have never heard anyone mention it more than twice , the only guy that ever did vocally rally against gays , eventually left and turned out to be gay. My theory hasn't proven me wrong yet

Being gay is like eating mustard on your grapes or putting peanut butter on your iguana. It's unusual, strange , different, but not really something you could "HATE" , you might not like it , but it would be hard to hold much HATRED towards it
