If someone can explain to me why going from 1 sale in 100 to 1 sale 1,000s is right, I will happily admit I'm wrong.

Also it's as clear as day people are finding it tougher today in adult, people are leaving the business, sites, sponsors and boards are closing. There's absolutely no proof the buyers are migrating to a few big sites, more likely the bigger sites are not suffering so badly yet, we know the small ones are.

Are the medium size ones next?

Maybe it's your level of ability that make it right for you. For me a business should be growing if it's got it right. I aim higher than some.

Because there is more than a tenfold increase in the number of people able to access your content now compared to ten years ago.

This really is basic maths Paul.

The good old days when people had to buy porn. Well I'm in a big group here who wish the same. I read so many posts telling me they wish it was 2005.

So many want to go back to the days when people didn't give away free porn, so they can give away less free porn.

The Internet should of been a great leap forward for the porn industry. It should of made a lot of people very very rich. Not $50 million. I'm talking about $500 millionaires. Because the Internet was a way for billions to access porn. As opposed to millions.

The problem was everyone started to fight over traffic. As if the more traffic, meant the more money. Well that's the way it should of been. But the only way they could think to get more traffic was to give away more free porn. And the slide started.

Imagine if the only free content given away was this.

Or this?

[/url]

1 advert per site and the tour wasn't giving out enough to jerk off to. Just like a magazine front cover.

No we decided to give the surfer 20 free hardcore images and 4 x 30 min hardcore clips.

Because if we didn't someone else would and the surfer wouldn't come to our free site so we could convert 1-100 to 1-1,000 of the surfers. And to pay the bill we decided to spend more money on keeping the surfer satisfied, so he didn't need to sign up, than we did on keeping a member happy.

Now the complaint is Manwin give away too much free porn.

Idiots. This is too much free porn.

If a 1,000 sites do it every day.

Yes we had 1,000 times the viewers and no more money than the days of not giving it away. And today we have less because there's too much free porn.

Don't worry the real threat is .xxx.

You are a one trick pony and you keep beating the pony to death. I think everyone is aware that there are millions of free porn videos available to the surfer. I know of at least one site that has more than three million by itself.

There is no way to remove the millions of free porn videos from the internet...so the porn market has changed...and everyone that is in the porn business is aware that the market has changed...end of story.

Yet you keep saying the same things over and over...why?

Maybe because everyone else keeps saying the same thing.

Spouting BS about how many people are on the Internet so obviously we sell more.

That I wish for the old days.

That I'm too old to understand.

And no one has any idea how to sell more other than giving more away.

This forum is full of broken records saying the same thing over and over again. Except when a new idea to give away more free porn comes out.

It doesn't matter how many surf a free site. All that matters is how many buy from a site with something to sell. But with all the broken records in here. They will never get that.

Now the broken record Damina can post I replied to your post.

Sandra asked me to take it off before we made love.

No, I put it on for her before the shoot.

We made love while she still had it on, while you and Eva were out having coffee.

Great meeting you and great having you do the documentary. Looking forward to seeing how I came over. Idiot perv is probably a safe bet.

I KNEW you banged her!
Luckily for me (and the documentary) I secretly left my camera rolling on the table pointed towards the couch area while Eva and I were out for coffee. You banged her on the couch, right? I'm going to watch the dailies now.

Paul, I'm just being overdramatic to draw damian back out of his cave...
Damian - I'm just playing arbitrator so that things can be made more clear and simple for my documentary, obviously.
Paul, I want to ask this so just let me ask:
Damian, if you could boil it down to one sentence, thought, phrase, word, and/or idea, what is your main problem/issue with Paul???

Last edited by ReggieDurango; 04-28-2011 at 08:43 PM.. Reason: Anyone else can answer too if they'd like but I'm especially interested in Damian's Answer

I haven't seen anyone say that in a long time, meanwhile I see you say the same shit day after day. I can't believe you said some shit about broken records, seriously? No one here is more of a broken record than you dude. Your ideas are old and tired and no where near practical. Like your content. Just be happy that you are a retired man with money and let others deal with the situation?

Like it or not tubes are what's in now. And tube traffic converts just fine. Does it convert like 1998 or 2005? Fuck no, it isn't 1998 or 2005 (don't you wish)!

Yeah there is more given away for free now, just like everything else you encounter in real life, companies giving shit away free left and right to make sales, it's the state of fucking everything and if anyone could change it I'm sure something would be done by now.

Porn used to an easy cash cow and it's simply become more realistic now that the internet is out of it's infancy a bit. It's still entirely easy to make a living in any part of the porn industry. But if you are planning on doing business like you did 5-10 years ago then you aren't going to be very happy.

Why won't this thread just die.. do you really believe tube sites can be stopped? You can't even stop them posting illegal content let alone get rid of them entirely.

I'm a broken record because the problem remains the same.

Our content earned us more than any other online shooters content. This shows how dumb you really are. While shooters are clambering to shoot "up to date online content" for $300 to $700 exclusive. We shot sets only worth $3,000 non exclusive.

Up to date set and video = $500 exclusive
Old and tired set only = $3,000

What would you shoot?

As an old and tired man, I'm one of the few coming up with possible solutions. You young and energetic people. Seem to have given in. Just fine conversion isn't 1-1,000 in my books. It's a losers acceptable conversion ratio.

Plain stupid. No need to explain why.

Actually wrong. In most industries people face up to problems and work against them. In this industry people seem to lay down and give in.

Just checking. You made a lot of matter of fact comments that I completely disagree with. I was just wondering if you were speaking from experience or not. No big deal.

Did it go with my instructions?

The editor should be able to figure it out. But just to be safe.

E Book is on the back burner. Have the dog now and he needs watching like a hawk. Also have the Mother of a cold and had it for weeks now.

Will write more soon.

Are shot by shot grading and 5.1 sound mix about porn or photography?

I'm writing about porn.

You are saying not to give up on stopping tube sites? Have you really thought about how difficult that is? Next to impossible man, next to impossible. But you will still say that I have "given up" to big yourself up because it's easy to say and you don't have to worry about it.

Have you ever watched late night commercials, or commercials in general? They are giving shit away left and right! Last night I was watching an Adam & Eve commercial, it said goto their site and buy something and it comes with "3 FREE DVDS!" anddd.. "FREE SHIPPING!". And something else free that I forgot. Directly after that a weight lifting supplement commercial comes on and they are giving away 30 days worth of their product FOR FREE so you will try it and hopefully buy more. The whole "give stuff away for free" mentality is happening in all industries both online and off. It might not be a good idea but no one has found a solution yet obviously. If you add up the profits from every company in existence that has given their product away free in hopes of selling it I'm sure it amounts into the trillions, even a small percentage in change would reap huge profits, but they are still trying to give more and more away FREE. And are these companies ran by young people? Most of them probably not.

I guess the entire world has given up and you are here to save us Paul.

It IS a race to the bottom.

There's a well funded company starting up and paying videographers for mainstream; and the rate is, at best, HALF what it should be.

Take it or leave it.

If you are making erotic material using photography and video it would seem that knowledge of photography and video making would be important.

Getting a good performance and recording it well is the value you add to the product. The more value you add by your skill and labour the more valuable and unique the film the more it can be sold for.

Sadly what you propose is a slightly better amateur level of working. You have a dislike of knowledge and culture.

Then sell your material yourself, if you believe that your material is better, but your stuff online and let the punters decide.

As bandwidths increase and HD sets become common place quality will become more in demand.....good sound too, most have good stereo or 5.1 on their computers...

Judging on your signature I don't see you selling content.

There are ways to combat Tubes, for some to put off the decline and survive a little longer. As an affiliates you've little choice. It's not really up to you.

The fundamental problem was the structure and direction of the online porn business from the early days. Spending too little on the product, too much on traffic had only 1 end result. A market flooded with mediocre sites and tons of free content.

I made a post in another thread and it shows it's nearly impossible to spend more than 15% on traffic and have good to great content in the members area, based only on Internet sales. The few who managed to do it started in the early days and built. The majority didn't make it past the level of, spending too much on what would eventually cause the demise of the industry. Free Content.

You obviously have no clue about selling. Go think it through a bit more.

I guess this is the level of so many online. Adam & Eva run a buy 1 get 3 free special and it's giving the product away for free. Jakez doesn't think that the price of 1 can cover the cost and profit of the 4. Then running a special for people to try a product has been a selling practice for decades. Will the supplement company be running that special for ever?

We have given content away from the days of Tubes in far too large amounts. Not as a "Buy 1 get 1 free" offer or a "Try it for a month" special. But as a "You never need to buy porn again." Special.

Now people are screaming that the customers doesn't need to buy porn today. What Jakez means is the 0.5% who did but porn but liked it enough to consume now don't wantto buy porn and have become 0.01% of consumers.

Many of the good shooters are leaving it. And going to use their skills elsewhere. Shooting weddings pays far better and less hassle.

Very true.

I adapted to retiring. Some shooters did the same, some adapted by moving to far more lucrative fields.

Some don't have the option and trying to stay afloat.
