The only thing BFV left out was this quote where Paul states he wanted to shoot the model in a PMT T-shirt so his brand was on Nathan's site. That's a move that would need to be discussed between the two prior to the shooting. For Paul to do it on his own accord shows a lot of disrespect and is exactly why there was the clause he questioned.

Paul went on and on claiming how great a shooter he was and how everyone today sucks.

Nathan challenged him to prove it with a normal job offer and continually tried to meet Paul's unreasonable demands.

Clearly Paul has no intention of actually doing the shoot and is just content to type away

I'm a photographer and have several websites. I absolutely HATE piracy and detest anyone that feels it's OK to steal someone else's intellectual property. I sold my first picture to a Surfing magazine way back in 1977 :) Things were a lot different back then I can't believe how things are today so I'm right there with you on that.

Honestly, I was willing to put aside all of Nathan's history and look at this as a challenge between two people as if they just met. I saw it as a public challenge. Apparently it was personal.

I'm not sure what Paul would do with a "challenge" from somebody else. He didn't take this "challenge" seriously until Fabian agreed to pay his price. Which right there showed that Fabian is a horrible businessman and that Paul is much smarter than he is by drawing him in and having him agree to pay $3,000 for a shoot of a girl masturbating.

To me this whole thread isn't about whether or not Paul Markham is a superior photographer...it's pretty obvious from his credentials that he definitely is. And I would say that if magazines & the DVD industry were still big...that very few guys (including the ones Brazzers have) would currently be up to the level to shoot for them.

To me...the whole thread is about Fabian and his complete power trip and ego run amock. He's like the Barney Fife of porn. He had nothing to do with Mansef becoming so big. In the end, I'll still respect Paul for his work over the years. That is real. Fabian? Uh...I respect him for programming the first version of NATS. He was a good employee at TMM. Then he opened a small paysite and affiliate program and it failed big time. Then he talked his way into his current job working for the real owners of Manwin. And that really is kinda impressive.

It's easy to make fun of people and laugh on a computer...but in real life, the guy did more than you and most of us will ever do in this business.

Fabian said 3 sets and videos for $3,000 Which did not agree to.

Fabian then said a set and video for $3,000 Which I agreed to. And agreed to sign his contract which is something I had never done before.

Fabian said he would make it an easy scene I could pick.When I did he changed it to one he picked, harder to shoot and limiting the girls I can use. I agreed to it.

I said $3,000 up front. Because I don't trust him. Trust is again earned. He changed the contract.

Fabian then demands a clause in the contract that is open to any interpretation. Not in court, but if I agree to something it doesn't need a court to settle it. I won't agree to HIS demand.

I don't care what others say they have to sign, shoot for or what ever. This started out as what it would take to get me back shooting. And shooting for a guy like Fabian and his measly money isn't it.

We find someone anonymous or impartial to host the content. It will all be watermarked the same.

Then people can vote on who is the best.

As for Fabian. Like you I think he's a puppet. He's obviously clueless about porn and even though I'm sure NATS is a good system it's probably nothing a good programmer couldn't do. I doubt very much that he had the money to buy Mansef. And some of those proposing he went to the bank or found backers are showing their knowledge of real business. They might be able to do that with Playboy, Penthouse or Hustler. But not Mansef with a money laundering charge hanging over it.

In all honesty I hoped this would happen. I hope now a few sponsors or custom shooters take this challenge up so they can show their skills. But will they?

they aren't selling content quality. only MET/Hegre/Femjoy are in the non-existent quality race. everybody else in porn sells on fantasy. porn stories are meant to trigger a fantasy to hook the surfer. the actual shoot is secondary, especially since no one sits thru a whole porn scene. well unless u cant get hard. if u are a porn surfer, u want fantasy - then action.

the reason porn is failing is that paysites fail to match the right fantasy to the surfer. each paysite is limited in scope and usually poor in marketing.

rather than wade thru hundreds of paysites, a surfer can just go to a big tube and find the right fantasy in their head, then get satisfaction. whether its free or not is irrelevant. people pay for what they want - even guys 18-30.

So here's a review of the worse scene I've seen in a very very long time.

It's meant to be an anal scene. The idiot who wrote this obviously has no clue what an anal scene is. To try and shoot one and miss the classic anal fuck scenes is like making bread without flour. It can be done, but who the fuck wants to eat it.

The shooter didn't know enough to get it right, doesn't care enough to get it right and no one seems to care, just throw it up and fill the site.

The actors clearly weren't bothered either.

Brazzers site is full of this kind of porn. And that's sad because they should be setting new standards of excellence.

One of the reasons sales are falling is as you point out Tubes are far better than most membership sites. They're full of low quality porn and the major money is spent on marketing to get new customers to replace old customers.

So customers start to see that paid porn isn't delivering what they want. The next time they see a site that might interest them they remember the bad experiences and are more wary. As this repeats itself they become more and more wary. In the end Tubes are the better choice.

Of course if you believe what a marketing man tells you over your own experiences you're one of the few.

This is the problem, we have all built up suspicions after being sold something by fast talking salesmen or glossy ads. We learn. Yet we think the surfer doesn't he will keep giving us his money, so long as we do the marketing right.
