PHOENIX -- Neil Berens suspected something was just a little "off" with the big new house that was built at the end of his south Scottsdale cul de sac.
"We noticed all of the traffic going in and out and we were like, 'What's going on here?'" Berens said.
Kip Merritt, a neighbor, also thought something strange was happening.
"These scantily clad gals would run into the house," said Merritt.
Berens and Merritt were among a group of eight neighbors who gathered at a home in the cul de sac, to share their stories and suspicions with CBS 5 Investigates. Some suspected prostitution. Others suspected it was a drug house. As they discovered, the truth was not far off.
"It is an adult business. It's an adult pornographic business," said neighbor Paulette Wiley, after seeing a CBS 5 Investigation into a similar business. That story aired in November of 2009.

She said she was constantly contacting centre management “with complaints of offensive behaviour” by Rydges clientele, including a naked stripper entertaining men on a balcony, fireworks being set off from hotel rooms, guests yelling abuse at her children and beer bottles and litter being thrown from balconies.

Neighbouring resident Meta Vincent said a microwave and used condoms were thrown into backyards by hotel patrons.

“If Rydges wish to reclaim the microwave they will find it in pieces in our backyard, beside our dog, who was nearly left in pieces too,” Ms Vincent said.

ya i think its bullshit that porn is lumped in with drugs and prostitution. porn is a legal business with no victim. i have no doubt those neighbors in the story jerk it to their computer once a week or more. probably to the content shot in that house!

Its funny, here in Australia we have fuckloads of brothels.

In fact, if you go up to the main road in my town, there is 3 brothels on the main road, and probably more hidden away in the back streets.

You got the pizza shop, the 2$ store, the brothel, the booze shop haha..

Its all out in the open. They just have a street number as a sign, usually in pink writing - thats how you can tell its a brothel.

No one seems to mind. Its all discrete, no one is getting hurt - And thier is a NEED for this type of product.

Same deal as the porn house - Although i can imagine if they have huge parties and abuse people, thats probably why people got angry.

If it was loud, a lot of public nudity in plain view, a considerable increase in traffic, people pouring out of the house and into the neighbor's yard, or there was properly destruction I could see people being all up in your business.
