Spam4Free -or- Whats in YOUR mailbox?

About a year ago I signed up for one of those "4FREE" sites to see what they were giving away in there, what the angle was... maaaan that account gets no less than 30 email spams a day now (and its unpublished other than to them).

Its scary to think how much spam the average adult surfer has to wade through these days... I'm guessing at least 150 emails a day. Insane.

i read an interesting point some time ago

some guys collect millions of email addresses... some real, some phony, and spam them with some bullshit

they'd also include a "click here to unsubscribe" link

whoever clicks the unsubscribe link would be added to a "good" list by the spammer --- a list of addresses that the spammers know are valid and (99.99% chance) read on a regular basis. hence those unsubscribers would be spammed even harder.

of course these guys were opting OUT, so i don't know how useful their email addresses would be.

sasush, i'm looking in your direction

i figure that if people dont want to recieve that shit you arent going to make money off of them anyway.

i dont know any good mailer that doesnt use a remove list. you arent going to get a sale off of these people so why waste your time mailing them with more shit.

Yeah right. They don't use unsubscribe lists. The names are either sold & resold, or they just do mailings for people.. either way its impossible to get off their lists. I just filter them into their own folder to see what they promoting.
