    Talking Porn to the bank?

    Hi

    Just wondering if anybody has ever gone into their bank to talk to a business advisor to talk about getting business loan to go into the porn industry.

    What kind of reaction did you get?

      You mean you're a technology company?

      Here in the States, saying you are in porn isn't a good thing with Banks, not sure about the UK though.

                          we never asked for a business loan but we leased a camera, lighting equipment and a van (which we used for shooting) through our bank. they knew what we were doing and as long as we paid our obligations they didn't bother. they also raised our credit limits after we explained them how exclusive production works and that we have to pay models etc. before we get the money from the clients.

                              hm i did do that once. Was in regards to setting up cc payment here in Denmark. And i needed to put some money up as security.
                              Actually, they were sort of fine with it. And by sort of... They wanted to know a bit about what i was doing and planned on selling. To cover their ass.
                              Once i told them that, there wasent a problem with it.

                              But was not for big money and not a company loan as OP is asking for as i read it.
                              That would be a different matter for sure.
                              But still, say nothing about the biz when talking to them.
                              Hm, would think it can give some problems if they find out.

                              Varries from bank to bank i guess. and country of course.

                                  When your asking for money for a loan, never say its for porn. PORN to these people sounds like you want to jerk off for fun. Say it's for marketing company or social networking services. If they need to see something, make some bullshit up.

                                  Never say "porn" to banks. Cashing a check is not an issue, but asking for money is.

                                      I had a really hot bank teller i use to see a lot when i was making deposits so i had a busniess card for models that had $100 bills as the background, i decided one day to just say fuck it and in middle of bank when i went to make deposit handed her a card and said she could make a ton more as a "model" and she should hit me up :D

                                                          To get a loan to start a porn business with the state of the industry is a really bad idea. There is a really good chance of making no money and owing the bank a bunch of money.Also no bank is going to give a loan to start a porn business.

                                                                          Ask Fabian. Apparently if you are a former programmer with no experience in the actual porn business, and you don't have much income, and no proven track record of ever running a company or even understanding pornography...

                                                                          Then you can go to the bank and get a $140 million dollar loan in harsh economic times and tell them straight up that it is for a big porn company that also is accused of piracy and is in trouble with the Dept. Of Justice over a money laundering charge...and the bank just says "APPROVED"

                                                                                                  talked to hsbc (uk) few yrs ago about getting some business USD account (can't really remember what type of account it was, something to do with usd though), after lots of prodding (from, i run websites, people buy subscriptions, to its somewhat adult related) they said they wouldn't do business with me & i'd have to leave... their rates were rubbish anyway so no real loss there.
