Hdtv

Shaw cable in our area is now offering a HDTV cable box. The HDTV I have seen via Bell Expressvue Sat systems has been great.

How much HDTV programming is there?

Posting this as I know there are a lot of guys with big ass TV's here.

ABC, NBC, CBS, WB, PBS <- are only like one show a day in HDTV
the only ones playing HDTV fulltime are I think HBO, Showtime and DiscoveryHD.

If you have the TV that supports it then might as well get it, once you watch a couple of shows in HDTV and then switch to a normal channel, you can clearly see the difference (at least on a big tv).

Definately worth it, even just if you catch the odd movie once in a while.

While you're on the subject...

Has anyone here with a Radeon 9500 or 9700 video card tried connecting their computer to a HDTV yet?

They sell the adapters here:

The picture sucks through regular s-video so I was thinking of buying the adapter, but would like to know if it actually works OK first. Supposedly you can get your computer to do 720p or 1080i on a HDTV with the adapter.
