Any cheap dedicated boxes around?

Just wondering if anyone has any cheap dedicated boxes available, a 10mbit box with unmetered bandwidth will do the trick, i mostly need CPU power rather then bandwidth at the moment - but being able to upgrade to a 100mbit or 1gbit connex is a must.

I also need CPANEL - seems this costs extra.

Spam up some links and ill check em out

Nah i checked them out they are a tad expensive. The site i need to host is under construction so it doesn't really make any money, so i want to be a tight ass and pay as little as i can.

But thanks for your info anyway

Here are some dedicated deals we have going now. They are all 10Mbit unmetered. I am not sure if we do control panels on dedicated because we dont usually get asked for it. But these are completely managed so you dont really have to do much. Just email support and they will do it all for you. Let me know if you have any questions.

The reason i need a dedicated box, is because the site i want to host is a tube search engine, currently it has 300,000 files - although realistically it will have around 1-2 million files, i am not sure a VPS will do the job?

Although thats a good option i will check into that, thanks for the idea

If you actually want to save money, then don't go with cPanel. We've got unmanaged dual core servers with 2GB RAM and a 320GB HDD that we can set you up with for $75/month with 10mbps of Dedicated Bandwidth.

We can also install Webmin, AWstats, PhpMyadmin and other popular free software to help you administer your server.

You first say you are more concerned about CPU power but then you are entertaining P4's and other low end specs.
File count doesn't matter on a VPS anymore than on a dedicated, so theres no reason why you couldn't get a VPS.
cPanel is going to take up between $25-$35/month of your budget, so you aren't going to find anything if you try to stick with cPanel that is really worth it.
I would consider using a different control panel, so you can make sure that the majority of the amount you pay per month is going towards the server and not some license cost.

Here's a nice dual core server that we can offer including Interworx control panel. This allows you to put the bulk of the money you pay towards the actual server.

Intel Core2Duo E2200 Dual Core - 2.20Ghz, 1MB Cache, 800FSB
2GB DDR2-667 RAM
250GB SATA2 7,200RPM HDD
Dual Gigabit NICs
1U Supermicro Server - 2x HDD Bays

3000GB Monthly Public Transfer
Unlimited Monthly Private Transfer
10Mbps Public Network Bandwidth
10Mbps Private Network Bandwidth
/29 IP Allocation - 5 Usable IPs
Private VLAN
Remote Reboot
Server Monitoring - PING Response
Real-Time Bandwidth Monitoring
$89/month, $0 setup fee

Contact me and I may be able to get it down a little lower to fit into your budget.

SecuredServers.com has dedicated servers starting at $58/month with 10mb unmetered. Best host I've ever been with.

The $58 is for a dual core 2.8ghz machine with a 250gig hdd. 500 gig is an extra 5 bucks a month maybe.

You can upgrade past 10mbps very easily.
