My first thought was that I must meet an disproportionate number of homely women before realizing that "average" in this case translates to all "regular" features. I think every one of them would be considered pretty - well, maybe not Samoan.

I've often thought that a lot of celebrities are so mesmerizing because there is something "off", ie not regular, about them. Usually it's something that is nearly imperceptible but we just can't take our eyes off of them.

They all look like the same girl - suggesting they really fucked up the study. I mean the eyes all look the same, and we know how different people's eyes look.

Also, 100 people isn't enough to get a good sample. If they harvested 100k Facebook profiles, and used computers to recreate - rather than overlay photos, I think they would get a different result.

At a certain point we'll all look the same. My kid is Polish, Italian, Irish, and Lebanese.

In the past it was difficult for races to mix. I mean one hundred years ago it was difficult for a Mexican to meet an Italian. Now it's a quick plane ride. Races are melting together.
