That's not true at all.
Years ago I was driving just out of Phoenix at night in my Mach1. The window tint was limo dark; The car was like a coffin at night. In a patch of traffic I was being tailgated by this jackass, and when traffic cleared I bolted, taking my car up to 130 mph. Because of the window tint I never noticed it was a fully marked highway patrol car. He called for backup long before he hit the lights. He thought I knew he was a cop and thought I was running. Full felony stop, stopped the freeway and all. I was handcuffed and placed in the back of a cop car to cool my jets while they called out the dogs to search my car. No one slammed my head into the pavement, beat me, etc. They called me sir the entire time.Herschel Savage

Those cops are such cowards. Beating a subdued suspect is one of the pussiest things you can do.
But what about the cop that tried to run him over with his car, is that not excessive force? The kid was on the sidewalk when the cop car jumped the curb and hit him. If the kid was running through the street, I could see how getting hit by a car was his fault. But since when are cops allowed to drive onto sidewalks and plow into suspects. The kid likely has a long rap sheet, and they figure he'll likely get little to no prison time - probably be released within a few hours. The courts seemingly do little to nothing to repeat criminals with numerous past convictions. This gets very frustrating to the police who have to deal with the same criminals over and over...
After awhile some officers can't take anymore and look for any excuse (ie. suspect running, not obeying commands, etc) to deliver their own street justice - not saying that's right, but is the reality.

its funny how people use their personal judgement to decide if a case should be decided by law or by personal judgement.
When it suits their purpose they want cases to be decided by personal judgement but on others the law.
Personally i think they should probably beat people just like that if they run from the cops, but that isn't the law, so i have to disagree with what they did.
There was a case in california of a guy who got life in prison because he cheated on his drivers test ( 3 strikes law ). it's absurd that we use the law to say its fair he is in prison yet use judgement in other cases to say the laws shouldn't apply.hatisblack at yahoo.comComment

I'm forty-two and I've noticed that my driving has changed. You can see the idiots who are likely to get pulled over, they are changing lanes, tailgating, and passing cars left and right. I remember when seeing a police car when I was driving put the fear of god in me because I knew I was breaking one law or another. Now I see a cop and I wave.
When your a kid you get pulled over all the time because your an idiot and you drive like an idiot. When your older you know how to avoid tickets. I only get pulled over when I'm speeding, and when I say speeding I mean REALLY speeding.Herschel Savage

The only thing in that video that seems excusable is the car part hitting the kid. Try stopping a car on grass. something tells me the cop did not Intentionally hit the fence.
