    FDCservers down due to extreme weather?

    So after the so many harddrive failure i decided to take a new packadge with 10 times as much Harddrive space for new users instead of 6 year old members.
    Days of re uploading stuff and so on.

    Server offline again.
    After my complain email i get the following response:

    Due to extreme weather conditions and other factors outside of our control, The
    entire buildings AC system is needing repair, due to the extreme cold it seems
    pipes have frozen. There is crew currently working on this problem, we do not
    currently have an ETA.. We are working on as many systems as we can, thank you
    for your Patience .
    Does anyone else have this problem, or are they just fucking with me?

      haven't heard that name in a while. they used to be a haven for spammers.

                      Thats crazy shit. hope your server is back online soon. Here's a thought for them: redundancy. just a suggestion.

                          Which facility Detroit or Chicago ... I could understand Detroit being out as that storm is pretty nasty and if their fiber is terrestrial then it could have easily been taken out and need repair ... but i cannot see Chicago going offline

                                      I have quad server with 8gb ram for literally pennies...
                                      (bought trough resellers) so I got really good hardware with cheap bandwidth...
                                      using it for some mainstream projects... hosting like 2gb on it on it but burning bandwidth...

                                      bad
                                      had one hard drive failure and one network card replacement so far.
                                      caused some downtime but nothing big...

                                      conclusion
                                      good for the money, but if someone would offer same server at same price I'd move...

                                              FDC is nothing but problems, pay a little more and get a better host. They are fucking horrible and they don't give a fuck when your shit goes down. They use cheap ass drives that fail constantly as well. Trust me just pack up and move to a better host and pay a little more, I know FDC is cheap but it will end up costing you in the end.

                                                  My server in Chichago is up. I have a server there since 2006 and I have to say it works very well and bw is super cheap. Only had network card failure once and it was replaced fast. I am in a process of taking another server with them (pending offer from webair)
