It looks like Diabetes is increasing. A lot of people are talking about diabetes and the elderly. Pharmacy drug stores shops have huge sections labeled "diabetes." The newspaper article says that some of the diabetes is obesity related. I think this is one of the reasons to stay in good shape with a good diet and physical exercise. Lose fat now! A healthy body is a body that is not overweight.

I am 46 years old and was told in May of 2007 that it had finally caught up with me. They have been testing my blood and urine every damn stupid time they had an inkling of a chance to do so since I was like 15 or so. My mom's mom and dad both died from complications of severe diabetes, and 8 of the 12 kids they had have either died or are suffering like nothing else from this.... so it was pretty much my fate from the word go.

Having said this, I am sooooo diligent about it and I watch literally every single thing that goes in my mouth, but I don't let it define who I am.... I also monitor my kids, I won't let it go like my family did and not talk about it hoping if I don't that it won't get them.

we always read labels.... and a few weeks ago, we noticed something very strange, and this is just one damn example and it pissed me off so bad.....

My family loves applesauce and had found some made by a popular company that had "no sugar added" and it was great, worked fine for me and everything.... and once I check a label, I wasn't going back, it was just deemed a safe food for me. A few weeks ago, I picked my newest jar up and out of habit, turned it and read the label...... and guess what I did find..... it NOW has high fructose corn syrup in it, which I avoid like it's death in a bottle.... a LOT of these places are sliding shit into these Diabetic and so called safe foods without word one about it.

Sorry to ramble, but this kind of thing is seriously pissing me off.... you think you are eating safe and have been and then these idiots start throwing shit in there after they've marketed it as a safe product!! It's crap for me, I can't imagine the people that struggle with it far worse than I do.
