Are we the only idiots to build a pay site first?
Are we the only webmasters dumb enough to start with a member site right out of the starting gate? The first year was brutal.
Which brings me to my question? What strategies do work best to launch member sites, and what steps .... AVS?..... TGP?..... Affiliates? Curious minds want to know! |

You can have the prettiest paysites in the world and it wont do you shit with out traffic.
You should have learned to generate traffic first, then paysites. |

I think before you can launch a members site you need to have your own sites, or you can just buy traffic to start out with.
If you are experienced in getting traffic you can launch the new paysite and already have traffic pumping to it instead of struggling. TGP's, AVS's, and feeder sites are all good ways to help generate traffic to your sites. Keep in mind you will always want to keep building new sites, submitting new galleries, making new avs sites, and submitting pages to the engines on a ongoing basis to keep your traffic level's growing. |

Free sites - avs sites and tgp are all good. Affiliates are not as good as you might think - there is the 80/20 rule. 20% of your affiliates will generate 80% of your affiliate sign-ups. Site owners can generally out promote a paysite by a ratio of about 2 to 1 in comparison with their affiliates. The best sort of affiliate is the one who already controls a lot of traffic for your niche - when you find those guys offer them a better % than the normal affiliate or even buy traffic from them.
