Mr. Skin is looking for an in-house writer for our Chicago office.
We are NOT considering writers to work from outside the Chicago area at this time, so if you can?t come in right away, please don?t bother.
Mr. Skin covers the entire world of celebrity nudity. Editorial elements include a daily gossip blog, actress bios, movie and TV reviews, scripts for original multimedia projects and plenty of surprises along the way.
Wit, originality, resourcefulness, and research skills are crucial characteristics.
More specifically, what we're looking for includes:
? An established writing/publishing presence online or in print. We are not so much interested in how many years of experience you have as we are in your talent. So have plenty of examples to show us.
? Extraordinary knowledge of and passion for movies, TV and popular culture.
? 100% comfortableness with nudity, sexual material and off-color humor.
? Ability to write in the Mr. Skin voice; i.e.?fun, silly, pun-filled, upbeat and NOT snarky. While we value the unique elements you bring, your main purpose is to remain ?on-brand.?
Daily job requirements would include (among other tasks):
? Multiple gossip blog postings.
? Composing bios and reviews.
? Writing and collaborating on multimedia projects.
? Assisting in the day-to-day writing for our other in-house businesses, Celebs.com and MrSkinRadioPrep.com.
You will be required to make good decisions about important things without much oversight. You should be comfortable with autonomy and ownership of projects large and small. An ideal candidate will have the potential to grow into a strong leadership role over time.
The position is essentially 9 to 5, operating out of Skin Central in Wicker Park.
Mr. Skin is highly profitable, has great advisors, and our team is made up of smart, motivated, hard-working people who have an unwavering passion for what they do both in and out of the office.
