My personal opinion . . . not that anyone cares.
I have not used TB or LS, however, I have only read positive things about LS and Jdoughs (even if we do not feel the same way about everything.
Reviews of TB seemed to be positive and negative, depending on who was talking. Bond never registered on my radar.
When I read the op yesterday my initial thought was that they obviously feel LS is their primary competitor. I would have avoided using their name in my press release. While Coke may mention Pepsi in their ads, I don't think you are at that level yet.Comment

Each rung in the ladder of success in this industry is closely monitored and guarded by the current keepers who will vigorously repel anyone that is not on the guest list which is compiled by the industry's elite.
Anyone holding a substantial position in this community will execute a maximum effort to suppress any competitor they see as a threat to their position. These efforts are conducted covertly while some participants will overtly deny such activities and distribute lies and propaganda composed of adolescent statements typically used in school yards.

Whenever you want a lot of action on a thread - first thing you do is - Start a Fight!!!!! <---- ooooooo !!!! An argument, a fight, a controversy, conspiracy theory - WHATEVER!!! Anything where everyone's going to have an opinion they can't hold back and will obsess over the thread. The more you argue and hate - the more the thread get's bumped to the top for more exposure.
Pick a fight with someone that's aboard whore or anyone with a lot of friends. Then start additional fights with all their board whore friends as well when they come to back them. By the 2nd page - EVERYONES's In the FIGHT!!!!!!! and the thread goes crazy. It doesn't matter what the fight is about - just keep it going - FEED The Conflict! People love venting anger in forums and that makes it easy.
If the thread is too positive it rarely reaches page 2 as everyone agrees. If the thread is too negative it will also fade quickly. But if you get into an intense debate or fight people keep coming back over and over again trying to win the fight. All the while, more exposure for the original post.

You see - You guys just Can't Stay Away.
By now LinkSpun is up to it's neck in Bloody Nubs!!!. 1 page thumbloggers and sensualwriters - The kind that will NEVER pay. I honestly AM disappointed that the paid vote at LS did not go well. But in that you see that all the lyoalty that appears in forums hits a brick wall when it comes to paying.
Next you have said that its all supported by advertising - wich TBN Never wanted to expose it's users( lot of complaints about other places at the time that were full of obnoxious ADs in their face ). Eventually we did allow advertising. We went to paid niche advertising slots and minimal banners ( NO FLASH allowed and minimal gif movement Required ). Step by step linkspun has followed TBNs Exact busines model/path starting with the exact copying of the link list page and function.
With a fine reputation at the time I had no problem scoring $200-$500 banners with anyone currently in the game. AWE Topped it off at $1200 for the prime slot. But, after a while the followups became more tiresome than they were worth - and making $$ in mainstream for 10 years (5 at the time) was much more appealing then spending 1/2 a day on ICQ. Alicia is actually who woke me up about it - she was like Why the fuck are we doing this??? And when I had no answer the path was clear.
So for us it was back to the user (why chase the money when it's already coming to you). At first only few Noble People Like Relentless would pay or even donate. I do believe Relentless was the 1st paid member. Relentless has an Extensive reputation and a lot of followers. He knows everyone in the Biz and They Know Him. He's highly intellegent and subsequently will make intellegent posts with minimal if any shit talking. This is Why He was Chosen for the conflict in this thread. LOOK At the Reactions after he posts!!!!! ROFL!!!
