Well when I was younger I used to read quite a bit going through a book a day at times, and those where full novels. It wasn't unusual for me to go through 10 to 12 books a week during those days. Sadly to say most of my reading now is done online. The last book I read would probably be "Into the Wild" Based on the biography of Christopher McCandless as he traveled through the US, by Jon Krakauer. Around the same time I also read a book telling the true story of the Pirates of the Carribean, pretty interesting read. I don't know if the internet had been around during those times if I would have read so many books. Even though my reading of novels had slowed down before the inception of the internet, time restraints were the main factor.

I read one every 2 months, so that's 6 per year. Last 3 were The girl with the dragon tattoo, The girl who played with fire and The girl who kicked the hornets' nest.

Do computer books count? I just can't sit down and read a book. I have read some short stories, but as far as a novel, not for a few years.

Every now and then I grab a new book, mostly info books of sorts. I haven't read a novel in 20+ years, probably in high school and that's if I read it then. Honestly, I would rather sit in a room and do nothing than pretend like I'm interested in a novel.

Just finished the entire Silmarillion - Lord of the Rings - Unfinished Tales for like the 20th time (I skip many parts since I know them almost word for word

) and now reading George Shuman's Last Breath. Last week I finished Woodehouse's "The inimitable Jeeves" and Sharpe's "Wilt" and "The Wilt Alternative" (I have all Sharpe's books and like 20 Woodehouse's. Together with Woody Allen and the Marx Brothers transcriptions, they're my "jokers" for when I don't have anything to read and usually read them in a single day).I read very fast so it's common for me to read 10-12 books a month and sometimes even more. The advantage is that 2 or 3 weeks later I don't remember most of them, so I can re-read those I enjoyed many times. The disadvantage is I spend a lot of money in books since I never have something new to read! ![]() Anyway, some books I recommend I have read the last couple months: Anything Sharpe The Solitude of Prime Numbers - Paolo Giordano Mr Vertigo - Paul Auster A Conspiracy of Dunces - John Kennedy Toole Rosa - Jonathan Rabb The Analyst - John Katzenbach

One of the best compliments I got in life, was a great Mom&Pop bookstore, in a large college town, said I was their best customer. Mostly Murder/suspense/spies, but some true crime, a lot of history, some comedy and anything the front cover, was just too appealing to pass up. One was a pic of a school girl circa 1900 at the chalk board while her teacher was lifting the back of her skirt with his pointing stick. I used to be lucky enough to do my reading in a winery gazebo overlooking the vineyards. Not the best book ever, but Polar Star was a great vineyard read.

No idea how many books I read on a yearly basis. I love my local library. Right now I'm reading a book called "Spy Dust", about US and Russian spies in the 1970s. After that is a book called "Hard Drive" about Bill Gates and M$.

12 is a low number for me. I read most nights in bed.

Just finished re-reading one of my faves, Callahan's Crosstime Saloon. Currently reading about the start of the tension in the Pacfic that lead up to Pearl Harbour in "The Imperial Cruise." And before Callahan's I was giggling through "Laugh with Leacock."

I do not read much anymore but I use to read several books per month...autobiographies and biographies about historical figures...mostly military figures...and historical books about wars throughout history.

		 I read 2 or 3 books a week.

I got a Kindle for Christmas (the cheap one) and have actually started paying for books instead of pirating them all online. (there is nowhere to get a good selection of reasonably priced English books where I live - by reasonably priced I mean standard retail pricing) I mostly read science fiction novels, but right now I am reading an algebra textbook to try to fill in what I missed dropping out of college. |

Google reader stats say I've read almost 3000 articles in the last 30 days, that's almost a 100 a day. That's before gfy and other forums, social sites, researching whatever, news, emails, comments, icq/im chats, etc. I'm not sure about others, but truly the number one thing I do online is, read.
